I gave up on endless waiting for this, so I'm removing my name for the waiting list.

I just mailed it to DRPM. The tool has traveled across the boarder a few times recently.
Its crazy to think how many miles its traveled in total.

I'd like to be added to the list, and am happy to help anyone else in the Salt Lake City, Utah (SL,UT) area this winter. I have a two-post lift in my garage, and would love to make an afternoon of it.

I did a search on this and all I found was info on the tool and waiting for it.

What is the importance of pinning your tie rod ends..?

Please put me back on the list. I used the tool on my previous tie rods. Plan to use it on my new ones. GREAT results!

I don't think "importance" is the right word. The tie rod pinning reduces the amount of play in the tie rods due to rubber bushings built into the tie rod. By pinning the inner and outer pieces of the tie rod together you eliminate (or greatly reduce) this play, which increases steering feedback and keeps your toe settings in order when cornering.

There are very expensive alternatives, but this is a fantastic $2 fix.

This seems to be the newest of the pinning threads. Does anyone have the jig? I'm planning on replacing my control arms in a couple weeks and wanted to see if I could get ahold of the it.

You might be waiting a while for any response. Search previous pages, and you should find the pic of the one I made. Really simple/effective alternative. You could actually make one out of wood if you have the right tools. Just fabricate the OD shape of the tierod, and set hole. The "pinning tool" that floated around, is metal, and should be good for a few jobs. The one I made was enough to do mine.

Ah, thanks for the tip! Looks very simple to make. What should I use for the pins?
