I bought solid tie rods rather than pinning. I never got any contact or leads from this thread a few months back.

I sent it to DRPM a while ago. Try giving DRPM a PM. He mentioned in the thread he was going to send it to another person.

Since this appears to be moving again, I'm going to shift my name to the bottom of the list. I recently moved to Washington and while I brought my MaxJax with me, I have not had time to install it and don't want to be sitting on the tool while I'm getting that done.

This should be the current list with Mtl next in line and me now at the bottom.

While I loved the way the community shared this tool the downsides have revealed themselves. It would be great to have someone produce 20 of em and let those who want em buy em. They can be shared from there if so desired.

Let's have a show of hands who would be interested in one. I'll have one of the fabricators at Sonoma Raceway look at it for costs etc. If the numbers make sense on both sides I'll ask Darin at FSD if he's willing to take on the item for inventory. I have no desire to be involved other than putting 2 sides together.

It's not a downside of "this community", just of humans. The tool would not have occurred if it weren't for this community and the people (thanks Garth) who selflessly help others. As long as you wade through the excrement, there's gold to be found. :-)

It was not meant to read "the downsides of this community" but rather the downsides of trying to share one or two tools across such a broad base of people.

I am offering a potential solution by connecting my local fabrication resources with one of the forums preferred vendors. Having 10-20+ versions floating around would go a long way towards solving the problem. Heck some people might just want their own (think small shop owners)
