WOW!! That's pretty impressive, Andreas' fan clock!! On display at the Porsche Museum, what's next the MOMA in NYC? Looks to be an excellent trip JP! If you can get over to Solms, check out the Leica camera and optics facilities!

JPP,
Thank you for the recognition - that's fantastic.

Here is the thread from last year: PCA clock project 2011

Your trip sounds like a phenomenal adventure. I'm hoping to make it to the museum before I start using a walker...

You are most welcome sir! It's a great display and your clock is prominently at the center, I'm sorry you couldn't see it your self ...

So ... one more night in the little town we are staying in just outside of Stuttgart .. it is called Bissingen ... and it's like a Jacquie Lawson Christmas Card of course ... it's also where Porsche Financial has it's new office tower :-)

... and the next morning early, we are off to meet with the people at RUF in Pfaffenhausen

After about two hours of tearing through some beautiful German countryside we came to a roundabout with this familiar sign .. but that building was half Porsche and half RUF .. it's the Porsche/RUF partnership service center ..

... and on the other side of the roundabout .. is the original RUF petrol station located on the left and attached now is the new RUF automobile center:

Inside the showroom, we are treated to a Cappucino!! and .. two vintage 911's .. the red car is actually one of the very first 901 production cars .. 1963 #17 off the assembly line ;-)

After a quick inspection of the car we are given a tour of the shops where their amazing cars are constructed ...
The very first thing you see is the new 991 RUF using a brand new V8 engine created by RUF ... modestly claiming 550 horsepower ..

Next is the CTR line ..

Here is the new lightweight V8 on the Dyno .. it's smaller and lighter than a standard 997 Turbo engine ..

and here is the 997 test bed that has been running a new V8 for a year .. love the color!

Here is Alois Ruf's personal antique BMW .. and behind it a customers Carrera 2 -4 Cam is being restored:

Customer 993 Turbo R waiting for service ...

So .. now time to head on to Budapest .. we hit the Austrian Autobahn and head for the Tyrol ..

and a few hours later, our last petrol stop .. in Hungary ..

Thanks for the incredible pictures!! We are all living vicariously through you guys. I want to know what the Ruf guys said about the speedster. Amazing car and adventure. With all the bad things going on in the world and the stupid stuff on the RL threads, this is a real nice breath of sunshine. I think we all need it. I know I do!

Mark-- Agreed ^^ 993 Speedsters make the world happier

JPP / RP993-- LUV your trek to 'Speedster Mecca' ... can't wait to see what other treasures await.

Didja visit the following hallowed RUF spots, for the Speedster faithful?

Cars are meant for driving GM, nothing stopping you from planning a trans-European trip in Bluesuvious next year.....

...but you are right, wish we were there does not say enough.

Beautiful car, amazing job from 9m.

The pictures and insight into the Ruf center and seeing pics of all those beauties is great.

Thanks for posting JP! I live through you.
