Mike J's 6th Annual pcarworkshop Shop Day and BBQ - July 16th, 2011
I would like to host Mike J's 6th annual shop day this year on Saturday, July 16th 2011.
If too many attendees can't make it that day, I will reschedule towards the end of August so please let me know if you can make it.
Schedule:
9:00 - The shop is open. Given I have a full sized lift we should be able to accommodate a few oil changes, brake flushes, repairs....the shop is a good size so we can work on two cars at a time (one on the lift and the others in the next bay). Please bring all the parts/fluids/filters you need since its hard to get Porsche parts on a Saturday If you just want to pitch in or observe please be my guest.
Please no BIG jobs - I would like to keep a car on the lift a maximum of two hours. If you have something major to do (we will NOT be doing clutch jobs on that day!!) PM me and we might be able to work something out.
11:30 on - The BBQ will be fired up for lunch depending on the appetites etc (maybe earlier!!)
Afternoon - continuous BS, wrenching, what have you.
5:00 - wrap-up
If there is some specific work you are planning, please PM me and we can discuss.
Directions: Click here for a map to 5691 Bessborough Drive Burnaby, British Columbia
Hopefully the weather will be great! Even it its raining the shop is large enough to have at least two-three cars undercover.
It would be great if those coming would either post or PM me so I have an idea on how much supplies/food we will be needing...
Everyone is invited ; this is a Porsche event, not a 993 only event!!!
Cheers,
Mike

Hi Mike - I currently have a 987 S, but I'm looking to one day get a 993 widebody as my next car.
This seems like a great event to get hands on feedback from 993 owners and actually see these great cars in person!
My brother and I look fwd to your event.

Oh man! Mike, i really wish you lived in our neck of the woods.
How about a get together like this sometime in southern California? I've got the lift but a tight garage. Maybe someday when I build my dream garage.

Well, I am thinking of visiting San Fran sometime in August to visit my daughter (interning at Google). This is a bit north, but timing this for a "wrenching" event would be a LOT of fun!
Cheers

OT: Mike J: So sorry about the Canucks loss in game 7. You know, I lived in greater Boston for 35 years - and always said: "wait till next year" regarding the Red Sox. Keep the faith, the Canucks will be back in the finals again.

I am not upset by the game...Boston won it fair and square, and it was a good series. I am TOTALLY upset and embarrassed buy the idiots who rioted downtown...my god someone has to take a strong hand to some of these "kids" and straighten them out, or put them in jail to be someone's love toy. Totally unacceptable behavior. It tarnishes the city, and the amazing part is 99% of them will get away with it. My 16 year old daughter was watching this, and asked if we could move out of the city, she was so upset.
So, I am peeved about that happened AFTER the game, not the results of the game!
Cheers,
Mike
