It seems to me that many people here have something against the color chalk.
I currently have the new Cayenne Coupe in chalk and would like to get the new 992.2 4 GTS.
I think chalk is just as great here; I don't know what's wrong with it.
Two cars in the garage in chalk?
Have good time....
I get a lot of compliments on the color. I originally wanted Gentian blue, but I bought my car preowned so I did not spec it. I am glad I have it now. There are a lot of blue and white Porsches around and I feel my color is a little different.
I have a Chalk 4S and love it. I think having tinted windows works well with this color also. I get a lot of compliments from people on the color. At the time that I purchased it, I also had an Avalanche Gray Ford Raptor pickup truck that was basically the same color. I got tons of compliments on that truck as well. The thing with Chalk is that it's a "trendy" color. Up until a few years ago, almost no one had a vehicle that was this color and now they're all over the place.
Chalk is a great color. Initially, I didn't pick it because I thought it was too trendy and similar to many other light gray, glossy cement colors other mfgs had. It was also offered on many Porsches so it didn't feel special or unique enough to the 992. However, I think Chalk has stood the test of time. It still looks special, particularly compared to many of the various other light cement hues offered by other companies and I don't feel I would grow tired of Chalk vs the other similar shades.
Ironically, I like Chalk so much that I am really considering getting a G80 M3 in Chalk via BMW Individual because it just looks way better than BMW's stock Brooklyn Gray.
I love solid gray shades.
I got my GT3 liquid wrapped in Slate Gray and it looks superb. Slate Gray dates back to the 356.
However, I think these solid gray shades got hot post Covid and now that every car has them, they've peaked. Jeep, Toyota, Audi (original?) etc.
I'm now contemplating removing the wrap from my car.
If that's what you like, then get it. Chasing color trends is endless. What goes around always comes back around. These muted non-metallic colors have been around since the 1950s and then fell out of fashion in favor of bright colors in the 60s and 70s which then trended to grayscale in the 80s. Now we are seeing resurgence in bright colors again for which Porsche is capitalizing on with skyrocketing PTS prices. The muted non-metallic colors have been adopted by pretty much every car maker as standard as their popularity is at its peak. If that's the kind of color you like, that's the kind of color you should buy. But if you want to stand out in today's traffic, that is not the ideal choice.

If you like it, that is all that matters. If you are asking for real, yes, it is basically a filing cabinet "color." I had an IBM typewriter at work once that was that color as well. Some things are pretty, some things are cool, some things are ugly and some things are cool ugly. A few years back someone decided to be "cool" and go with a filing cabinet color on a car because it was anti-color. It was cool then because all the cars had colors and now you were making a sort of statement. Even if not pretty, it was cool-not pretty or cool ugly depends on where you stand. But the last few years, Chalk and now the Primer Gray colors are standard issue, with black wheels. It feels as if you lived in East Germany or under Soviet occupation with travant "colors" So it was "cool"-ish some time ago, now it is boring, worn-out and not even attractive. With all that said, that means didly, if you like it. People thought bell bottoms were cool in the 70s, and wearing no socks and dockers in the 80s were cool. If you still want to rock them, go for it! This is about what makes YOU happy.

I really like the color chalk on a 911, I don't think it works nearly as well on a Macan or a Cayenne. I do also worry that it is more of a fad color that will look out of fashion in 5 years from now.
Right now though, I think it looks great and would be my preferred non-PTS color I would spec on a new 911. Examples below of a 2025 992.2 Carrera (base):
I like it but only have it on my Macan GTS. Looks cleaner longer and don’t really care what others think. Every 911 variant that I see with Chalk also seems to stand out by not standing out like the Reds, Blues, Yellows ( I have a GB 911 btw). I also bucked the trend on my Chalk by buying one that Satin Platinum wheels that I like as it doesn’t look like every other Macan in Chalk.
