What would you replace your 993 with?

However, now that Precious is far from a street car, I've been toying around with the idea of another toy. Top contenders for me are G50 Targas and boxsters. Even having a hard time resisting the urge to pull the trigger on an '05 997 given how cheap they've become.

I don't have a p-car right now but in the same price range I would consider a longhood RS clone, a 964 RS clone or a 6GT3 over a 993 (assuming a $50k 993 ). I might even consider an evoIII e30 M3. Eventually I'd probably find my way back home to a 993.
I drove one when I was 19. That whine at WOT will forever ring in my ears.

I have always said I would be just as happy with an SS, 3.2 or 964 in as good condition, but those 993 curves are sooo sexy. I guess for the same money, I'd try to get an RSA and tune it a bit. Limited production sports purpose cars are gonna hold value. Wouldn't mind a GT3 of course.

i don't understand the fascination with 308/328. i wouldn't take that car over a 993. i think any ferrari made prior to the 360 would be a headache. i love the 993. i had one back in '95 and had to buy another one 9 years after i sold the old C2.

If our cars are worth $30-40k then many of the mentioned cars are going to be ruled out. I would have to go with newer Boxster S as I doubt a nice 997 would be in reach. I almost bought a Boxster in lieu of my 993 2 years ago.

i'd buy the 308 QV (328 if I could find one cheap enough - I excluded that earlier because I don't think I could sell my 95 for enough to get one) with a fresh 15k svc and drive it for 14k miles (probably in the 1st year) and sell it. I've owned my 993 longer than any other car before it and really can't imagine selling it. there just isn't anything that does what it can do in this price range, and I do think they'll appreciate over the years.
i have owned an E30 M3, and that is a great car. it seemed to be built correct right from the factory - never felt the need to mod the engine or suspension on that car, and it was great on the track
