3.2 Carrera.

I'd worry too much about an Italian exotic, to be able to enjoy owning one.

I could have spent more, but I chose the 993. That says it all.

My ex-girlfriend's brother who is Italian, lives in Italy and ran his own car parts business in Italy always said, "Ferraris are nice to look at, but if you want a reliable sports car, buy a Porsche".

The day after I picked up my 993, I met a friend and his wife for lunch. In the parking lot was a Ferrari. It was easy enough to spot the owner and I started chatting with him. He felt the same way and said that he should have bought a Porsche instead.

Yes, they do look nice, but I'll just continue looking at them and enjoying them from that aspect.

An E30 M3 or NSX. I would also consider an Elise.

I know what I want ..... a 965 and some sort of M3 to drive when I fiddle with the 965. That or a lightly modded 966TT.

But for now I am still enamored with the 993.

If it had to be the same price range, I think I would pick up the best 996 I could find and with the spare change I had left over (my '97 993 should be worth more than most 996s), then I would spend the difference on track mods.

I will not sell mine.

If, on the other hand, it met an untimely demise, I would search long & hard for a super low-mileage early '95 (built in early 1994).

Far more capable cars exist today, but this silly box of bolts has kept my attention like no other.

OK if I HAD to get rid of it, and can't replace it (that was the question, right?):
1. 997TT (if I had the $$s)
2. Cobra 427 clone (if I don't)

I had a 3.2 Carrera before my 993. Unexpectedly sold the 993 and replaced it with another 3.2. I just couldn't pass up a pristine, local 32K mile factory widebody that was priced right.

I do 90% of my own work and the 3.2 is a MUCH friendlier car to work on. Plus I enjoy the more vintage-y, involving driving experience that the older Porsche provides. I just wish it was a coupe...

The 993 was the better looking car, no contest there!
