It is supposed to be ON all the time. If yours is not on, the bulb has burned. Not uncommon since it is always on, day or night.

Part # 900-631-132-90. It's a 1.2 watt bulb.

The same bulb happens to illuminate the 'PRND2L' in my 2001 4Runner.

True story.

I know on the Ferrari forum there is a "cross reference" chart, because most of the Ferrari parts are actually made by Fiat, but if you purchase it with Ferrari logo bags then it is 4 x more expensive.

Maybe someone need to put together a cross reference chart like this. For example the 996 ignition switch are known to fail, and it is an Audi part. If you go to a p-car dealer they will ask you to replace the entire steering column, but you can walk right next door to an Audi dealer and buy the replacement ignition switch part for $40.

Just carefully pry the cover off with a small flat screw driver and you will see the bulb

Just changed mine yesterday along with my ashtray bulb. You can buy the 1.2w bulbs from most auto stores. The dealer price was almost 5 dollars each.

I know certain someone who's very good at doing things like this...

OK, OK, since you don't have 993 anymore, we'll let you off the hook, otherwise...

Oh but wait! You have a 996, hmm...

Good idea Robin, so Rennlisters, who's up to this task?
