Very nice!
My first car was a well-used '66 Beetle (6v).

To add to the Vee Dub power, I'll post a couple pics of a friend in Germany's car. He went with the group on our Alps tour and hung pretty well! Kinda like the Blues Brothers, it has Porsche wheels, Porsche brakes, Porsche suspension... And the engine is a 914 engine that's been, uh, tuned. (*the black one is one that my friend built at his shop)

Looks like you hadn't yet discovered Xenit... I love old pictures and the stories that go with them...

Sweet Car. My first car was a 72 bug, second 73 THING, Third 73 Bus. I did not have a radiator until 1995! I sure miss working on those cars....

Without the spare tire you don't have "power" to the windshield washer system since the air from the spare provided the pressure.
Cool car, looks very well cared for. I wonder how much you had to pay vs. what it cost new??

Nice find, though! Jeff
+1!
Truly cool car, but it looks too clean to start modding. I vote you keep it stock.

OK, OK... Only wheels and tires... and maybe some bolt on exhaust... I want the car to look like it rolled out of SoCal in 1964. No large diameter wheels or fake carbon fibre!!! How about a period correct roof rack?
