Thanks for sharing your story, glad in the end all is trending upward.
I am in Women's Healthcare and hear heart felt stories like yours on a daily basis. Sometimes, nature just takes over after the IVF treatments, at 7 months sounds like all is good. Hard to tell too much from the ultrasound picture, maybe you could suggest that your wife's OB get a decent ultrasound machine.

Mike, I might be hijacking here, but you're certainly not. I see your struggles as very similar. You know we have our fingers crossed for you guys...
Here's one of the future Porsche owner that Kika referred to, my son Andrew. This is from 1 week...he's twice that old now!
I was hardly "into babies" before I had my own. I have had my share of adventures and my response to my smug yuppie colleagues who consciously decided not to have kids "so they can travel" (or whatever), is that there is no greater adventure or anything so compelling or rewarding as raising your own children. Hey buddy! I'm late to this thread, but I'm super glad for you (like I've said before). I can't wait to have more reasons to hang out!!!
Like Chris and several others know, we had a tough time for a while too. My wife was pregnant with our first baby and ended up losing it in February of last year at 16 weeks. Without getting too melodramatic, it was horrible. The worst thing we've both ever experienced. Turns out that she had massive fibroid tumors that are thought to be the cause. After her fibroid tumors were removed, the doctor told us we had a small window in which to get pregnant. We weren't too confident though. Well, we did it. And on April 8th at 12:30pm, we will finally be parents! (she's having a C-section) It's a little daunting, but I'm really anxious to meet our kid! We don't know if it's a boy or a girl, so there's a lot of green and yellow going on in the house right now. OK, sorry for the hijack... ANYWAY....
Chris, I'm glad for you and Pam, and I am also glad that we will both have someone to share our experiences with online and in the YL! Best of luck to you both and I'm sure we'll be in touch soon.

Huge congratulations. As another "come later" Dad, I can tell you the times ahead will be nothing short of amazing !
My son is approaching his 9th birthday and I can hardly believe how the time has past so quickly and with so much fun and love.
As a Dad, having a few more years of maturity under your belt makes some of the physical things a little harder, but I find I am a lot more calm than many of the younger parents. I hope you two find a similar pleasure.
