Default One thing I hate about my 993

I can't put a letter or bare CD-ROM on the passenger seat or it will end up sliding between the seatback and seat bottom and fall to the floor behind the passenger seat. My other cars don't have this problem! Is this a common 993 issue or is my seat messed up??

Its not a big complaint, but kind of annoying as I have forgotten to mail stuff or bring CDs in to work, etc. haha

I stick mail vertically in the crevice between the side bolster and the flat part of the passenger seat. Works well for parking garage slips and other small stuff. Never tried it with a CD.

If you add GT3 seats there is no issue ...

Two things I hate about my 993:

1. You can't adjust the AC vents to blow on you -- thus further negating the effects of the already-weak AC system.
2. You have to lean forward to reach the button that changes the radio station.

I declare: what the hell were these engineers thinking?

I agree, the AC Vent angles suck, the pre 87 vents worked better even though they were to small

True on the seat gap and I do the exact same thing with papers as bruce59.

The vent aiming bugs me, too!

Default one thing...

I agree; you don't put anything slim on the seat.

And the whole dash is charmingly inconvenient, particulary the HVAC controls.

I think, since I got the car last spring, I've had the CD / radio unit on for a couple of hours.

Even with the interior lights ON ...the ignition-key-lock is STILL in the dark - totally shadowed by the steering wheel. I often end up 'fumbling' trying to squint in the dark so as to find where the key goes.
Mucho frustrating!

g,

I did the LED light DIY to solve this little quirk...it works pretty good.

Cheers!

They fixed the dark ignition-key-lock in MY96. They added a light just above the switch. Someone had a DIY to add a light to the MY95.

What bugs me is the difficulty in changing the oil. Both filters are a bear to change and the filler spout is in an awkward location. The first car I have had to "nurse" the oil to refill.

Well.. if we are going to talk about quirks.... How about the interior light dimmer ****... Can you say "afterthought".....

But really... who cares about the interior of a 993... thats not why we bought these cars....

Now if I could just find a cupholder to hold my latte on the starting grid.... :-)

The fact that at every light people want to race.
And that so often when you get out in a parking lot, people want to stop and talk to you about how great a car that is.

Sport seats do not have this problem. I stash stuff between the seat & center console. Stuff I put on the seat fly's around under cornering & braking.
