Default Justice

I just seen a thread where a guy parked his car and when he came back it was damaged, which I'm sure has happened to most of us at some point. I'm also sure we have run through what we would do to the offender if we caught them, if so read on.

Yesterday after having lunch with my brother I offered to give him a lift back to work. As we walked to my car I noticed two guys in suits standing looking at it which is not uncommon at all as we all know. When we were about five feet behind them, one of them ran and kicked my door (they obviously didnt know we were behind them). As his foot connected with my door I shouted out and grabbed his arm, he got a big shock, he went very pale very fast. I asked him wtf he was doing and he said he was just joking and he was really sorry, just joking, just joking, I'll pay for the damage, what a generous guy. I looked at my door and there was dint about the size of my steering wheel. I was very angry and shocked that someone would do that. My brother who knows nothing about cars estimated the damage to be €300 (I would of guessed €100) which the guy said he would pay. My brother escorted him the the cash machine and insisted on getting his business card. I brought the car to panel guy and he said it would cost about €150 to repair and I would be without the car for a day. I was really p***ed off because it was such as sh*tty thing to do and I didnt feel justice was done, should I of called the cops? I just felt frustrated. I went back to the office and pulled out the guys business card, I looked at his name and it seemed familiar, I was trying to remember where I heard the name (Dublin is a small place). About an hour ago I remembered where I heard the name, Your not gonna believe this, really! this is too good to be true

He has an interview with me for a very nice job this Monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honestly!

When I finish writing this I'm going to call the employment agency and request he put together a presentation that should not last any less than 45 mins. That should ruin his weekend before I ruin his Monday.

Do you think I'm being harsh? I'll leave up to you guys to decide,

Should I

A: Do what I'm gonna do

B: Call the agency and cancel the interview Today

C: Call the agency and cancel the interview Monday

Hiya..
What a crappy thing to happen , I'm really surprised that this should happen in Dublin , normally we get such positive reactions to our cars from the casual observer.
would you mind me asking whereabouts you were parked when this happened?

Anyway onto the crux of the matter. The guy should be scrapped of the sole of your shoe for being the sh*t that he is. Surely the best lesson he'd learn is to end up in front of you at an interview. Go for it , fate does not normally take such a quirky hand , take full advantage of the situation!
I'd also be inclined to hint that you could render him 'unemployable' with a few well placed phone calls , but then maybe I'm being a bit of a b*ll*x there

I'm sure the rennlist collective can come up with much more ingenious punishments for this loser!

Wow! I love it! For sure I would let him come to the interview without calling the agency. Imagine his face when he'll enter your office... That's a day he'll remember for the rest of his life! There you'll see who he is exactly by the attitude he'll take. Now at his place I would think twice before accepting the job. I would feel subordinated for the rest of my carreer.

Justice exists! God your lucky!

If you can get a work colleague to accept the guy's presentation and you walk in at the end of it, after he thinks it has gone really well, that would be justice. Better still, film the interview and post the result on youtube

Hi Samrock,

Leason lane, just off leason street. A really good area too. I've heard of cars being keyed around Dublin a lot lately. Scumbags.

My brother reckons that if I do cancel the interview he will never talk to me again. He even wants me to rig up a camera

I hate that it happened to your car, but if it had to happen, this is brutally beautiful justice. Absolutely do not cancel the interview. I'd want to see the look on his face when he sees who he's interviewing with... that is going to be great!

You are in a unique position that many of us can only wistfully imagine. Enjoy every second of it and let us share in the afterglow. You're restraint at that moment catching the bastard in the act was incredible.

Liffy

Meek beat me to it.You could ask the interviewer to fetch you at the end and walk in discussing the ar****** who kickedyour car. Of course there could be 2 people with that name, which would spoil the fun.
Cheers

Do what you are going to do but have the police at the interview to make the charges that day.

I like these two so far.

I can't believe the circumstances. Just incredible that you caught the tool bag kicking your car and even more amazing that he has an interview with you.

Really, quite sweet justice.

EXACTLY what I was thinking and that's EXACTLY what I'd do. Have a plain-clothes cop sitting in the interview and have the perp admit malicious conduct right in front of the cop and haul him off in handcuffs.

Maybe 30 days in the pokey will teach the Beaver.

Crikey , I wouldn't have had a worry parking there ... I hope it doesn't make it more difficult for you to hang onto the car , maybe it's time to buy that sh1tbox so you can park where you like . It gives me great pleasure in stepping out of my civic before it comes to a halt

Anyway , I also hope it doesn't cut across your plans to make the August 3rd meet , I was looking forward to seeing you.
