Smile Installed a modified plenum for 12hp increase on N/A 993 today

Just came back from my wrench who installed a modified plenum for my 993! Estimated hp gain to be 12, he said it would take 40 to 50 miles for the computer to make fuel adjustments. On the ride back i felt a signifecant amount of pull in the higher RPM's !If any one is intrested in such a mod pm me for info.

Cool.
Who modified it?
Dyno before and after?

Edit: Hmm... you said PM... well, if you don't want to answer, that is OK too.

I can't disclose the source, I was sworn to confidentality! Not sure if dynos have been done on the 993's with this plenum installed but certainly for later models with excellent results. I will look into getting some concrete info

1) You cannot feel a 12 horsepower gain on a 280-horsepower car, unless you're Michael Schumacher.

2) If it takes 40 to 50 miles for the computer to make fuel adjustments, how could you have felt a power increase on your drive home?

You can dyno a ride-on lawnmower, a Honda Civic, a Porsche -- anything with a motor and wheels.

4) No offense, but I don't think you know what you're talking about. Unless you have some details about your new "plenum," (do you know what that is?) allow me to be the first to call BS.

Your right Im not a mechanic and I don't claim to know much, but I've known the mechanic that has worked on all 4 of the 911's I have owned for the last 30 years! He is one of the top mechanics at avery reputable Porsche dealership here in LA. I am going on his recomendation and his experience with these cars. So Im not really intrested in getting into a pissing contest with you Sir. I will enjoy the added hp in my car even if I mad it up in my head!!!!

That's the most important thing. My 993 makes over 500 horsepower, maybe even 750, and I didn't even have to modify it.

I think this issue has been talked to death by people far smarter than most (?all) of us re. air temp/mass/flow/dyno results/etc/etc/etc....

I'm sure everyone here would be interested in hearing about the latest snake oil .

I've seen dyno proof of plenums adding similar horsepower, though for the water-cooled newer cars. No reason to believe it wouldn't be applicable to the 993. 12 horsepower is noticeable, most definitely.

I don't know Matt, I know its a huge deal on the 996's to change the plenum etc and has quite the power gain. Lets see what the deal is before we throw the messenger under the bus What if it could be a nice addition to those pipes of yours

So you are just teasing us?! That's not nice...
Seriously, anything you can provide would be great. I'm curious...
