The 996 and 997 plenums have been put on a dyno and have increased HP. I was just trying to share something that was exciting to me, because we all know how difficult it is to get added hp to our N/A 993's. I must add that I do have an automotion chip and DACH X bypass pipe so Im sure all of these factors come into play. OPINIONS ARE LIKE ******** EVERYONE HAS ONE !!!

So... is this a prototype? Are you part of a test group? How much was it?
I just don't understand the secrecy. Why woud he ask you not to say anything?
if a mechanic has such a plenum, he would like for you to spread the word so he can sell more of it.

Pass smog. Pass gas. Pass a lie detector test.
+1 million!
Wherever there's a real horsepower claim, there's either a battery of dyno testing behind it, or it came from the finance minister of Nigeria.
Hogging out an induction system isn't a secret. There are NO legitimate speed parts that are a secret, at least without a patent. The minute you sell your first one, your Nobel prize in Porsche engineering is put up for instant peer review, and "I felt..." can go back to the custom upholstery forum where it belongs.

"A plenum is used on a fuel injected engine. It channels air evenly into the heads. A butterfly valve (connected by a cable to the accelerator pedal) is bolted to the inlet, along with a TPS. The butterfly regulates the amount of air entering the engine. The TPS works, in conjunction with the butterfly valve, to regulate the amount of fuel delivered to each injector."

Until there is at least one dyno test, this is all just talk. However, in the interest of the racing horsepower wars and representin' the 993 on the track, I hope the claims prove to be true.

mrsullivan,
I think, on the Rennlist forums, you would be in the distinct minority if someone made horsepower claims that they could not be backed up.
Oh, wait, that's right; according to some here, there's no Rennlist honor. Uh, yeah, right.
