Here's me flying into Anchorage. I need to get a better picture of me in action. It's a FedEx MD11.

Former MU-2 air ambulance driver. Learjet 24, 25, 35, and 36 driver as well. Left Horizon airlines as a captain more than 5 years ago after flying the Dash-8 100-200-400 series and the Fokker F-28.4000.

Nice! It looks coordinated to me, eh, maybe not enough right rudder. This was over a year ago base to final at 1N9. I think I need a TC in my 993 as well

How an MU-2 was certified part 91 much less part 135 was beyond me. If you lost an engine on takeoff and were not clean and above 180kts you were a glider. In short it sucked.

On the plus side I remember seeing a MU-2 back into a very tight parking spot at Teterboro one day. Very wierd to say the least.

I always thought the MU-2 was kind of a neat airplane. You sure knew when they were firing up their engines that's for sure! In other news, after 17 years flying commercially I just received my furlough notice a couple of days ago. My last day is March 5th but I'll continue to be paid for 6 months. I'm not sure that I'm going to try to stay in aviation, the profession isn't what it used to be, and I'm a little excited about what the future holds. I'm definitely going to renew my CFI and at the least stay involved in general aviation. As far as the profession - who knows. I look at Nightflyer and Schmidtwerks posts and I wonder if I could ever truly give it up...

...it sucked...schmidtwerk
Thanks. I've read that they are real hot rods, and a handful to fly, and I was interested in what the pro's thought of them.

Ron,
I hate to hear that. I was at Airborne Express for 3 1/2 years the left for UPS All the guys from my new hire class were furloughed last February after 11 years with the company. I was one of the lucky ones to get out before it happened. The whole DHL situation sucks!
Best of luck to you in your future.
John

Ron, that is exactly why I left aviation all together. I saw the writing on the wall and saw most of the guys that left to United, Delta, American, ext get fuloughed. I think the Southwest guys were the only ones that did not. The industry is just not what is used to be, the glory days are over.
