Hmm lets see.

Anything by Shipyard (though I like Prelude best I think)
Anything Sierra Nevada
Anything North Coast (Great white and Old Rasputin are my favs)
Anything by Stoudts (fat dog is amazing, as is the double IPA)
Bodingtons
Grolsch for the every day beer (the beer fridge is usually stocked with it)
Hacker-Pschorr Octoberfest
Avery Out of Bounds Stout

Bascially anything micro or foreign, though I'm not a huge Belgian fan
(I'm a huge beer nerd. I save all the labels from everything I try )

Bass.

Tell me you guys are kidding about actually drinking Miller Lite, Bud Light, Coors Light, and that skunky-smelling Corona, aren't you?

(**** storm ensues)

Can't drink beer much due to my diabetes, but when I do, I like the Red Car Ales. The Red Car is a local micro brew/pub restaurant in Torrance that friends of our own.
the Pumpkin Ale is my favorite, but Bob only makes it around Halloween.
Red Ale and Wheat are good also.

If you in the Torrance Area, good beer and good food!

I'm a Brit who has travelled the world, lived in many countries in Europe and now reside in the US. I've tried more types of beer than I choose to remember. But at the end of the day, I just have this to say:

There's only one Boddingtons!!

After visiting Germany over the summer I found I liked a few Hefeweizens...before then I typically didn't like the sweeter beers.

Ultimate favorites now:

Franziskaner Hefeweizen
Paulaner Hefeweizen

Other favs:

Newcastle Brown Ale
Mackeson XXX Stout
Blue Moon (no orange)
Leinenkugel
Heineken (had it from their factory in Amsterdam...awesome)
Shiner Bock (have to if you live in Texas)
Dos Equis Amber

For all of the people that really like Blue Moon, I would suggest giving Leinenkugel a try if you can find it somewhere. Similar, but I personally prefer it

*Runs and hides*

For the weekend nights of craziness:

Bud Light/Coors Light/Miller Lite/Keystone Light/Natty Light

Pretty much any "**** water" you can think of

One to look out for if you can take it strong - 'La Bierre Du Demon'. A french trappist light beer that comes in somewhere crazy at 12% by volume. If you can find it take a look a the picture of the guys face on the front of the bottle. After you've tried a couple you'll know why he looks the way he does.

'Trappist' is a kind of 'appelation controlée'. It HAS to be made under the supervision of a Trappist order community.

Currently there are 7 :

"Achel" by the Achelse Kluis in Hamont-Achel
"Chimay" by the Abbay Notre-Dame de Scourmont in Chimay
"La Trappe" by the Abby Koningshoeven in Berkel-Enschot
"Orval" by the Abby Orval in Villers-devant-Orval
"Rochefort" by the Abby Notre-Dame de Saint-Rémy in Rochefort
"Westmalle" by the Abby van Onze-Lieve-Vrouw van het Heilig Hart (our lady of the holy heart) in Westmalle
"Westvleteren" by the Sint-Sixtusabby in Westvleteren

'La trappe' is Dutch, the rest are Belgian. There is currently some debate going on about the authenticity of 'La trappe' because it was started as a purely commercial venture by the Bavaria Breweries.

Dunno what the French stuff is, possibly it is drinkable, but 'Trappist' it is NOT.

My favorites are:

Easy Street Wheat - Odell Brewing Co. (Colorado Microbrew)
Fat Tire - New Belgium Brewing Co.
Sam Adam's Light
Michelob Amber Bock

Anyway you slice it, I like my beer VERY cold...I mean cold like borderline slushy!

It is interesting that one of the best beers in Germany (and my #1) does not show up in your list:

Bitburger

You can buy it in the US (e.g. Houston Costco: two 12 packs for 19.50 USD). There is no reason for me to buy the US j...k with conservatives.

All of my American friends switched to it and never looked back ...
