Either Schwaben Brau or Stuttgarter Hofbrau, perferably a Pils.
I lived in Stuttgart for while and these were my favorite local biers and must have been what the Porsche and Piech families drank.
Zum wohl!

Beer tastes fluctuate wildly:
Kronenbourg 1664 (I've yet to find a decent pint of in the US).
Sam Smiths Organic Lager (brilliant!)
Greenwich Meantime Porter - like a lighter guinness.
Guinness - usually in a Black n Tan.
London Pride - on tap only.
Sierra Nevada - good DD
Modello Negro on a summers day
Bitburger - great with bbq
Warsteiner - I always drink it at the Nurburgring!
Caffreys (again, haven't found this Stateside)
Cobra - hands down the best indian lager with *hot* food
Saporro extra dry
Stone IPA
Peroni
Sam Adams
Paulanner Octoberfest
Becks Octoberfest
Whitbread IPA
er, I could go on but I'm beginning to worry myself here!

Goose Island (local, I like most varieties)
Guinness (when it's cold out)
Samuel Smith Imperial and Oatmeal Stouts, Nut Brown Ale
Three Floyds (NW Indiana) - makes some interesting, intense and highly rated beers

There is another name for Portland and Oregon in general...Beervana!
I was stationed in Europe for 3 years and can say for Pilsners, that's the place.
But if you like a good hearty(and hi-octane) ale, nothing tops the fine micros of Oregon.
Reds, Wheats, IPA's, seasonals, and smooth stouts. MMmmmmm! We have a microbrew pub on every other corner. The other corner's are coffee joints.
But for summer fun in the sun or mass quantity drinking, I'll drink Coronas.
As for Miller and Bud...that's for truckers and 'vette drivers!

I'll be "stationed" at the Kennedy School in PDX from 3/29 - 3/31. Looking forward to checking out their brewpub as well as Red Hook in Bellevue (Woodville?) later in the week. PM me if you want to join in on the fun.
While in Portland, I think I might also drop in to see Steve W. one morning before "the boss" wakes up. Visiting P-car shops are not her idea of a great vacation!
