OK, I can't let all the wine drinkers have all the fun, so I thought I'd post about a drink a little more near and dear to my heart. Of course, there is almost no such thing as a bad beer, but some are better than others. So, here are some of my favorites.
Franziskaner Hefeweizen - my all time favorite (no lemon, please!) (Paulaner Hefeweizen is a good sub)
Hoegarden white beer - Yummy! This beer is awesome and so unique.
Lagunitas Double IPA - smells like skunky ganja (..... so I've been told) - Stone Double IPA is a good substitute if Lagunitas is not available
Oggi's Brewery Sunset Amber
Alesmith X
Rochefort Trappistes 8 (special occasion beer - too strong to drink often)
And on a hot summer day after some yard work, some cheap Mexican beers hit the spot:
Rialto and Corona (or just substitute any other Mexican swill here)
One day, I hope to have an opportunity to try some of the Westvleteren Trappist brews - Highest rated in the world, but rarer than hens teeth. And one day, I'd love to do a beer tour of Belgium.
Disclaimer: To really enjoy any of the above beers to their fullest, they must be savored from a glass, not from the bottle. The exception being the Mexican beers - they are better from the bottle. So many beers, so little time.

This is what I was having while in London a few weeks ago -- this is the English Margarita![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I rarely have beer -- now Tequila -- that is something else -- perhaps for another thread

Ah yes, the Westvleteren. Very good that. Next time try the Rochefort 10. Try to find Tripel Karmeliet. Kasteelbier. Westmalle. Cinay. Chimay. Etc.
I could probably go on about this fot a while, but then I would only get very thirsty and you'd all be very jealous.

As for domestic I like Yuengling (oldest brewery in America for those that don't know. It's not Chinese like some think). They just started selling it in Nashville a couple of months ago but I drank it all the time when we lived in PA/DE.

Hacker Pschorr, Erdinger, anything from Victory.
If I pumped it right into my stomach without passing through my mouth, Bud, Miller or Coors would be my choice.

Miller Lite for quantity on a hot summer afternoon, Shiner Bock when I want to sit down and enjoy sippin' on a great brew.

Blue Moon and Sierra Nevada are what I usually have in the cooler at track events, which is about the only time I drink beer these days. I like them....and they seem to be popular when the cooler is open at the end of the day....

Having lived in Munich for a while I took a liking to the following:
Weihanstephaner Hellbier - AD 1040 Oldest Brewery in the world
Hacker-Pschorr
Valentins Hefewizen (no lemon)
Franziskaner Hefeweizen (no lemon)
Paulaner makes a really good dark Hefeweizen but I have not seen it here.
Over here I usually drink Guinness or Amstel Light to keep the weight down.
Another good microbrew is the ACME ales from North Coast Brewing in Ft Bragg, CA.
