The HTR 3 is so new I have next to no feedback yet on it, especially for Porsche. Time will tell. But I'm sure Sumitomo has taken it's Dunlop heritage well and they will prove to be better than the HTRZII's do (which have a very strobg following overall).

And yes, the Fuzion product is an excellent choice for the money in any size.

Re. ZRi sizes, are 285/30 and/or 295/30 to be available for the rears? .... the TR site only indicates the 265/35R18.

When I purchased my car they had HRZ II's all the way around. One of the rears had a chunk out of it so I replaced both of them about 4K miles ago. No problems to report with the tires, they are a good value. I don't track my car, just spirited driving whenever I get the chance. Some of the guys that do track might have a different impression.

The Sumitomo price is right for sure. I ran them for couple years with no issues. Now that I'm running the Michelin PS Rib I'll never go back.

In the Tire Rack in house test, the Sumi came out better than their #1 and #2 rated Max. Summer tires, the ADVAN Sport and RE050A:

I think I'll have to get me some next time around. I can't think of why not?

I have 265 Sumi HTR ZIIs on the rear, had them for aobut 8 months now, no track driving, just street DD.
For my use, the price is right and I have had no issues.

I just put HTR II's on the rears this week, and the car now seems skittish and darty on something mundane as an interstate lane change at highway speeds. It's probably because I still have S02's on the fronts, though.

I have the II's on my car for street use, but anything spirited (overly) or track duty you can forget about! They suck for track use no matter what you try for pressures (ask me how I know ). But for city driving, they make great tires. They're much softer than most tires guy put on these cars, so if you would prefer ride quality to handling capabilities the Sumi's are the way to go and for the price can't be beat.

Sounds like the IIs have mixed reviews. Any reason why there can't be marked improvement in the IIIs? The stellar test results from Tire Rack seem to indicate that....

Update:
Bought a set of these 3 weeks ago and thus far, fingers crossed, am very pleased. Right now the 993 is my DD so I have a wide variety of roads to travel getting to work such as rain grooved concrete, and asphalt in various states of disrepair.

I immediately noticed they are smoother and quieter than the Pirelli Rossos that came off. Had a reputable installer put them and they balanced out perfectly even up to some interesting speeds. No annoying hum on concrete and going over expansion strips is not harsh like it was, though certainly not like a Lexus but then that's a factor of the suspension too. Turn in is crisp and predictable. I would definitely buy these again. So far have put on about 700 miles over the last few weeks.

As far as overall performance, I am not about to push really hard on the streets, but thus far everything I read in the Tirerack review seems to hold true. And, if they wear anything like the tread rating, these things are an absolute bargain. YMMV

This is all great news! I have a set waiting to be put on the DD!

Was a little reluctant to post since I didn't want to hear a horror story after endorsing these things. Tire feedback seems to be like an oil thread, everyone thinks differently. Interested to hear how you like yours.

Your car might tend to understeer a bit more with 285's compared to 265's. Most wouldnt notice the difference in day to day driving I would imagine though.
