TPC Supercharger and a 993

But when you increase the pressure, fuel flow from the pump is going to decrease, so you'd need a larger fuel pump if it can't keep up.

Have been running my 97 C4S with the TPC supercharger with intercooler for two years and about 6K miles ... no problems except the check engine light keeps coming on. The codes are for "random misfire". Folks who have no direct experience (ie: only opinions) need some real world experience to comment IMHO.
There are several threads on TPC here on Rennlist as well as on the Pelican board.
Go for it. Your car will be a rocket.

Only if you max out the pumps fuel flow. If you end up only needing a few PSI more, the pump can handle it. If not, is getting a bigger fuel pump really a issue when you are dumping $5k on an installed SC kit?

No, getting a new fuel pump is not a big deal, but then again, neither is getting bigger injectors.

I thought I'd point you guys to this thread on Pelican. Russell has a chip emulator system working on 911's now. Seems to me that if he develops a 993 setup, you could custom tune a supercharger installation, using his emulator with larger injectors instead of the 7th injector with a piggyback ECU.

That could also work on Ninemeister head installs, I'd think.

One issue that often comes up with mapping naturally aspirated cars for forced induction is that there is no provision for > 1 bar absolute with the MAP/MAF sensor and no place on the ECU to map the fuel and ignition parameters. On simple aftermarket turbo installations, you can use a voltage clamp to fool the ECU while you manage fuel (RRFPR) and ignition (external box that retards--like Split Second) externally. But again, that's hack central.
So can you reprogram the stock ECU so it doesn't throw a fit when it sees boost?

Just to bring this thread back: I spoke with Todd at Protomotive, and he has reprogrammed a number of ECUs to avoid use of the piggyback ecu / 7th injector TPC setup. So there's a pretty inexpensive solution to avoid the piggyback ECU. He said it's around $525 for the programming, and you'll need new injectors too ($500??). You should verify the programming using a good dyno with wideband sensor, but he said he can tweak if needed.
If I were on the fence about supercharging, that would be reason enough to go for it!! I'm investigating his bolt-on turbo systems.

Who is 'HIS' bolt-on turbo system???
