Best Heel Toe Pedals
Just purchased a 1995 993 and want to add heel toe pedals. Would appreciate suggestions on the best ones to purchase. Would probably purchase three pedals and foot rest. Thanks.

This is an aside question but I always wondered this...why would anyone need special pedals to heel and toe on the 993? The pedals are close together and I can blip the throttle fine while modulating the braking with my foot by using the heel on the throttle and having the foot slightly rolled over with no special pedals..seems to work fine even on the track. My feet are not that large (size 11) or are they? :-)
Cheers,
Mike

Wings technology, not sure if they are still in business. They usually have an ad in Pano magazine. Get their standard pedal, the wide one is too wide and will cause you accidentally bump the gas pedal when you step on the brake.
I found the 993's pedal arrangements not to work too "precisely" for heel and toe, but the pedals in the 996 works perfectly without any modification to the stock pedal.
Adding the wings technology pedal to my 993 really helped with precise and fast RPM blip without tiwsting and turning my right foot too much.

Vosstek pedals seem to work very well. After adjusting the brake pedal height, and installing Vossteks, I can easily roll the side of my foot onto the throttle while braking. Very nicely made. I previously had AJR pedals, which offered very little improvement over stock.

Robin,
The Wings throttle pedal is NLA but can be obtained on ebay. I have one, as well as Rennline clutch and brake pedals. No slippage, no shrinkage. I know the latter pedals are unnecessary, unlike the, IMO, necessary and easy-to-adjust Wings but also think that the Rennlines give the footwell a finished look.

Lowering the brake pedal is on my to do list. No way I can roll my foot off the brake pedal onto the gas with any measure of control given the height difference. Easy for a foot twister, but I'm a foot roller.

I second that. A simple forward adjustment of the gas pedal makes a major difference not only in heal toe but I found on my turbo the car is more responsive. Otherwise the rennline stuff is great but their adjustable pedal is expensive. My C2 came with one and I like the feel over the factory plastic but a simple adjustment will do wonders.

I didn't know the gas pedal was adjustable, too. I was having trouble with the stock setup and adjusted the brake pedal lower. Worked great for me with the stock pedals.

adjusting the gas pedal looked okay but noticed that it raised the pedal 'stop' off the floor board and I was concerned that at WOT I might put too much pressure on linkages etc. So, I put an aluminum pedal on over the stock plastic but with a 1cm spacer - worked best for me...

I have always thought the the large alum add on pedals were not only ugly but actually made it harder to get a precise blip while downshifting.
I still tell all my students to work on learning the correct line, turn-in and braking points and leave the toe/heel downshifting on hold until they are actually good enough drivers to need it.
