Does your significant other drive your P-car?
We did a Poker Run here in St. Louis last Sunday, and my wife drove Trixie for the first time. I told her she'll stall it the first time - everybody does! I just wasn't expecting her to stall it the second, third, fourth, and fifth times!! Once she got the hang of the tricky clutch, she did fine, but she said she was scared to death!

My wife is eager to drive it. I promised to allow this once the local airport (BWI) opens it's runways for vehicular traffic.
Someday.

Not yet actually, but it is in the plan for the summer.. Based on observations of her driving in generally and a Volvo specifically (not a very difficult car to drive as you know), I think we'll have some problems with the clutch yes..

When I first got ~my~ car, the door lock actuator did not work, so I would typically do the "immobilizer dance" where I turn the key to the ON position, hit the transmitter, then complete the start. That apparently was enough to keep my wife from taking the car on her own--she didn't want to deal with it, so she lost interested.
That bought me about a year of "my toy only". hehe
HOWEVER, last night I was installing my new gauge rings and she was talking with me in the garage. Out of the blue, she asked when does she get to finally drive the Porsche? YIKES!! I told her that it's not all that great and she probably doesn't want to drive it anyway. She disagreed.
Sooooo, I suspect she will be driving it very soon (perhaps this weekend).

Back when I had Z-cars, I tried to teach the Werewife to drive a clutch. We got 3' down the driveway before my frenzied screaming got her attention. Her comment of "What's the extra pedal for?" sealed the deal. She might drive the P-car, but I suspect the event will be marked by monkeys flying out of my butt. (Luckily, she insists I own a P-car, has Zero interest in driving it - she much prefers to ride. She's a keeper) She has a restored Grand Wagoneer that she is quite happy with. (No, she won't let me drive it)

My wife has driven it twice alone & had 1 accident (bumped a parked car) & scraped a curb pulling up too far. Now she only drives it in my presence, & then only if I am too impaired to drive
I am planning to let her autocross it soon though, but I'll be there for that.

I keep trying to get my wife to take it out (I've had it since Feb), but she won't. She says that she doesn't really care about cars and she doesn't want to mess it up. I keep trying to convince her that "it's just a car", but I think my actions speak louder than words (she can't help but catch me washing it every Saturday).

My wife drives mine. She used to drive a 964 in the mid nineties and therefore can probably teach me more than I can teach her behind the wheels. She loves the handling and power of the car. Now that we have two Britax Starriser in the back, it is even better because she can take the kids along. Something tells me that they enjoy the ride even more than she does!

My wife tried driving my old 993 once and did not like it, she tried driving the GT3 and hated the short shift kit and said she will never drive it again. Sweet.

I let mine drive it on the 12th of Never... Just kidding, she could care less about driving it, but does drive it when I need to transport some wood (I'm a hobbyist furniture maker) and need to use her wagon.
