Does your significant other drive your P-car?

My wife prefers to drive a stick (she finds an automatic boring) but does not like the 993...its too low, too hard, too firm, too heavy, yada, yada..........she is only 5'1"/100lbs, I guess being 6' and 220lbs helps drive the car! So she has only drive it a few times and won't drive it unless forced....all the more for me!
Cheers,
Mike

Funny I see this thread as just a couple of weeks ago we dragged 3 of the cars out to an autocross for the first time in......well.......forever.
Gave Karen the 993C4S (totally stock, dead 108K mile shocks and all) and it was amazing that in the 5 years since we had a disagreement @ Laguna (T3 is a RIGHT HAND TURN) where she "quit", she picked it right back up. Those good East Coast wintertime in some old station wagon skills came right back.
Anyway, I'm like a lot of you who posted......there are many people (guys) I wouldn't let near one of my cars, but my wife isn't one of them. She just has a much more reduced level of interest. Now when she requests a seat cushion or something for the Radical I'll know something is up!
Maybe I should take her sudden interest in a Boxster as encouragement?

Wife drives mine a couple times a month. Usually to go out to lunch with a girlfriend. They get a kick out of it like they are getting away with something. Helps her appreciate our regular discussions about the p-car budget requirements for the month. Truth be known, she's a very good driver, likes sportscars, and it helps open her mind to future purchases. Tonight I mentioned a used GT3 in a few years as an addition to the 993. She wants to know if that means she can drive the 993 more. She's a good catch.

She drove it one time right after I picked it up, must have killed her curiosity. Has shown no interest in driving it since. Probably a combo of her new CLK and some unspoken reverence/fear for the 993. Whatever it is, it works for me.

Nah! She tried it once and she is too short to comfortably see over the steering wheel. She has been wondering out loud if there is anything that can be done to elevate the drivers seat. such as extenders that mount between the floor and the seat to raise it up a bit. I assured her that I had NEVER seen or heard of any such device but that I would keep my eyes open for same.
Don't nobody be sending me no info about seat height extenders now!! Yahear!

My wife cruises in a LS 430 for daily , but the tip 03 targa is hers in theory, it shut her up to me having multiple Porsches.. she can drive a manual adquately , but if you think she drives my 491 or the beloved twin S, you are dead friggin wrong.. I just don't tell her about when I sneak drives in on them

Not any more.
I was out of town on business when my wife's car battery went dead. I tend to keep the top off my SC and she tried to put it on before taking it to work. The desire to drive my Porsche went away after she forgot to latch the front of my targa top and it flew off like a frisbee in the middle of an intersection.
Doesn't matter that the 993 is a coupe, she still thinks about the SC.
