My Sad, Sad Fraiday....

Mr_Bock, how did Mohawk's insurance respond based on your claims? Did they pay for all the repairs? Any recalls to make it safer? Are you using the same switch that was smokey smelling? I will be in the process of purchasing the A-7 lift and want to make sure they took care of you.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Yes, it has been some years since the incident... The lift motor has a momentary push button switch. There was no way to know that any arcing had welded the contacts shut. I have since installed a lever disconnect switch that I now always put into the off position when I am not raising or lowering the lift. By the way, the lift installer (independent tech) said he has seen burnt switches, bent safety stop bars, etc... No matter what, there is always a chance of malfunction.
On a happy note, my car is now better than ever with the many mods and cuper paint work that was done.

A bump for an old story. The sewing circle of car value discussion is nothing compared to something that really matters... like crushing your 993 like a beer can.
