My Sad, Sad Fraiday....
I am still not settled down from this.... To day is my last day of a vacation and I was working on my car, up on my lift, getting ready to wash it have a nice drive on this wonderful sunny day when all went bad. I had to raise the car lift a little when the electric breaker popped (not a big deal, has happened befor) I went to the main breaker box at the other end of the basement and reset it. As I walked back to the basement garage, I could hear the lift motor running!!!! As I ran in to that garage, I could hear the car roof and windshield being crushed!!!!!!!!!. I was able to unplug the lift, but the damage is done . I am so bummed. It appears that the lift malfunctioned (Mohawk A7 lift).
Does anyone know of a Top Notch body shop in the Nothern VA OR MD area that could be recommended? Also a product liability Lawyer....
I took pictures but it may take me a while to get them to a posting format. The sight turns my stomach...

So sorry to hear that. What a huge dissapointment. I hope that damage isn't to severe. Not being sadistic, but post some pics so we can see how bad the damge is. Sorry again.

OMG!.....I am so sorry to hear that happened to you............hope your insurance will get it fixed for you.
However, I wouldn't bother with a product liability lawyer. I don't believe they would be able to help you because what you described seems to be entirely your fault.
And since you posted what happened here on rennlist, that makes it public information that the manufacturer can use against you & your case.
Doesn't the lift have a limiter on the track to set a max lift height so this doesn't happen again? If not I'd find a way to install something to keep you car from being crushed again.
Good Luck........................ZP44

HFS! My condolences. Ferrari of Washington uses Karosserie in King of Prussia PA, my old 993 was sent there when the local guys needed a specific non-pinch-weld frame jig. They transport for the DC area pretty often, I think. http://www.karosserie.com/ . Not affiliated and the car was sentenced to Salvage instead of repaired, but their rep is good.

Dang! Sorry to hear this.
Glad that things like this can't happen with my Sears floor jack!
If you want to bring the car to Pittsburgh, there is a body shop "artist" here - "Greater Pittsburgh Collision Works"
