Default Yeap got screwed by the dealer.

Talked with the dealer today. They sold the car I had a deposit on to hold. There explanation was a hold only last 48 hrs. and that they never ran my credit card. Anyways, I inquired about a reimbursement of my airfare. Sales manager (Trent) said that if he reimburses my airfare that it would take a chunk out of his profit of $2500. Unbelieveble, considering he is still making a profit. I am now out $750 for airfare (luckily I was able to cancel lodging) without nothing in return. I will take this up with PCNA to see what can be done. My gut feeling is that he sold to another party at a higher price.

Just venting, Nick.

Dealer: Paramount Porsche in Hickory, North Carolina. They were supposedly the premier dealer of 2004. I fail to agree. Terrible ethics.

so bein' a "premier dealer" doesn't mean dick. hummmm.

sounds as though they were just using you as backup. esp. considering they never ran your card. they suck.

btw: can't you @ least pay $50 to get your ticket rescheduled? bol

time to go up the ladder of management.. This IS wrong! Eating into their profits is THEIR problem. What a poopy excuse. If their gonna BS you, you'd at least hope they would come-up with a better excuse..

That sucks. I would push them on reimbursing your airfare. Whether or not they ran your card is unimportant. Legally, they entered into a contract with you with the exchange of your card information with the promise of holding the car.

Really unhappy to hear of such behavior by a dealer. Premier? My ***.

Chris. Where have you been? Have'nt seen you in almost 2 weeks. Was beginning to worry that you had left us as well. Very glad that is not the case.

The fact that they did not run your credit card is not determinative of whether they entered into a contract. What if you gave them a check. Does the check have to clear before you have a deal? If you had an agreed upon price, and you tendered a deposit, you had a contract. The dealer breached the contract. Pretty simple. Provide this information to PCNA, but don't hold your breath. More importantly, provide this information to the state agency which regulates car dealerships in North Carolina. This type of behaviour borders on fraud. Before you send the letter to the state, send a copy to the dealer, and give them 3 days to make this right.

Good luck.

And that will teach them not to screw customers who put deposits on their cars.

Bottom line is that they told you the car was on hold and you are out $750 you spent relying on them telling you the car was on hold. I've got to think you have a pretty good shot in small claims court.

How about the power of Rennlist? Mass emails from us to the dealer voicing our concerns (some of these very posts can be copied) and we copy pcna????
