Default SoCal vs NorCal Rumble: VOTE ON DATE ABOVE...

Given the lack of available hotel or B & B space on April 30th, I just spent the last hour talking to hotels about the following weeekend, May 7th. There are rooms available in almost all of the hotels and it follows suit that the B & B's will also have available rooms. I talked to the Paso Robles Chamber, and unlike the 4/30 weekend which has the Wildflower Festival, there are no events scheduled.

There is a conflict with the patio area at Eberle Winery, but their Cave Room is available or we can find another vineyard easily enough ( I've already made several inquiries).

So what does everyone think? Please post back ASAP!

Unfortunately the POC has a 2-day event at Streets of Willow that weekend. It's their Short Track Series Event # 2 for the year, and would eliminate several of the So Cal folks including me! But if that's what the group wants then do it and I'll help inany way I can...

May 8th is Mother's day. Are you all planning on bringing the wives or use up all sorts of brownie points?

Neither I'm single, but that's a good point.
I started this thread due to the complaints regarding hotel availability. This will have to be a consensus, so everyone please post your preferences.

I'll default to using Terry's answer.

Of course let us know asap so we can change reservations. It does sound like a better idea to keep the group somewhat together.

Gadzooks! Who the hell needs wildflowers anyway? Ok Ok, don't beat me. Mother's day is OUT for me. Trust me... I have enough trouble at home. I once did an open track event on our wedding anniversary... AFTER I got permission. HA! HA! I'm still paying for that blunder.

I'm good for April 30, April 23 is the POC event. Cambria is a GREAT place to stay, BTW.

I'm not doing POC so 23rd is okay for me. May 7th is okay too but I'm planning to be gone for 2 weeks so I might not be able to make that due to work...

Note that Terry is RETIRED

Greg, I don't have nearly enough brownie points for that.

It's easier to ask for forgivness than permission.

Either is fine with me - I can find a hotel within 30 miles +/- or come on Mother's Day weekend - since I am bring the wife with me - the girl friend has to stay home - sounds like a great weekend!

No way I can be gone on Mother's Day, although I could make it a long one day run on Saturday the 7th, but then who needs a hotel? I would be OK with the 23rd.

I was actually thinking about staying maybe down in Pismo Beach to shave a little time off the Sunday drive home (and to get a head start to visit my daughter at UCSB on the way home). More availability down there?
