Monterey adds about another 115 miles for the SoCal guys. I've made that drive for 3 day weekends in the past and its just too long (last few trips I have flown, much more relaxing). (Not that a Highway 1 drive isn't fun in the p-car!) Crashing the 356 guys might be fun (I still love those things), but wonder if the Cambria hotels are sold out. Looks like the poll is running about even for 4/23 and 4/30 - both of which work for me. Anyway, just my personal thoughts, looking forward to being there wherever, whenever!

Crashing RGruppe would be fun and Monterey is always fun although I only seem to go there for Laguna Seca now.

The Socal guys can drive a little further this time, it's only 100 miles We'll meet again in Buttonwillow for the track rumble which is further for us (I think)

I'm in for either the 23rd. or the 30th. Hooking up with R-Gruppe in Monterey would be really fun but I'm flexible as it looks to be a great turnout either way.

A RGruppe hook up would be great, but Monterey is just a little bit too far for me. Those exrtra miles make it much less appealing. At least this time around.

Just FYI - I called a small hotel I know in Cambria, and at this time, it sounds like both 4/23 and 4/30 are fairly open now in Cambria, though anyone who wants to stay there should be making reservations soon as things fill up as the dates get closer. I also looked the 356 event in Cambria; they have a concours on Saturday (but maybe it would be over by the time we got there??), a dinner at their hotel Saturday night, and a swap meet on Sunday.

When are we closing the poll and deciding??

The date listed on the pole is 3/30... is that too late for planning purposes?

Jim, Tony, everyone.....We had 42 votes on the last poll before it was contaminated. Currently there have been 32 votes placed so I think we should probably wait until the weekend to decide.

So, if you haven't yet voted, and you're a legitimate participant, please cast your vote.

Since many people may think they voted on the earlier poll, maybe we should PM those on the list who haven't voted yet - ?? Guess that means I'll volunteer to do that.

I did not previously respond (but I'm doing so now)...

As long as we can find a hotel room, Stephanie and I will attend. I voted for 4/30-5/1 in the new poll but would also be happy with 5/7-5/8. As many/most hotels have a 2 night minimum, we would probably drive down Friday afternoon.

Tom,

You might want to check for hotel rooms in Cambria too. I hope to see you at the Rumble.

Tony,

We've stayed at the Cambria Pines before (they allow dogs) and would probably try there. In any event we're fexible on most of the details. I doubt Stephanie will be too flexible one one aspect - we like Justin's wine a lot and so we will have to meander back to the winery for a tasting.

It looks like almost everyone has voted and that 4/30-5/1 is the date. Are our fearless rumble leaders going to officially call the election soon so we can make reservations?
