New 993 owner, hello!
Hi Rennlisters!
I picked up a new-to-me 993 a few weeks ago -- it's an early 95, Aventurine Green/Light Grey, and is a little rough around the edges. Bought it in Atlanta, drove it home to Los Angeles, and had a lot of fun (and barbeque) along the way.
Here are some random photos along the trip:
Memphis, TN, at a random Hilton
More or less the only casualty suffered on this 2300 mile trip
I thought this was a Church of Scientology or something but it was just a Bass Pro Shops LOL
Had to try Whataburger (I think In-N-Out is better)
Hit some rain in NM
Valet in Vegas hooked it up with a totally protected parking spot in front
Smog before I got it home
Took the BBS RS-GT off (they're for sale!) and tried on a friend's set of 997 wheels, just for ****s and giggles
Looking forward to getting to know some of y'all!

“Rough around the edges” just means it has character!
Great drive: I did almost the opposite when I picked up my 993 in LA and drove it to NYC last month! We should have high-fived on the way through :-)

Outstanding. That is the way to get a 993 and get to know it..... a road trip. Very cool. Rough around the edges is cool. It gives you projects and to set up the 993 the way you want it. And, IMHO, a driver is better than a show piece. Drive it and enjoy it. Thanks for posting, welcome to the madness and keep us posted!!

Hi Cheez,
Enjoy your new ride, I guess you figured out already that a 993 can be driven miles in the thousands without drama. May you have thousands of more joyful miles!

If you need a new lens I have a set in the garage- they're not perfect, some pitting and i think there's a very small crack on one on the rim, but not a hole like yours. PM me- I'll let them go for $ 150 bucks for the pair. I can send you pics if you're interested. Just trying to clear out some old stuff.
