Default RSR mufflers installed, great!

Early Saturday tinkering: The old mufflers has seen better times, so I bought RSR mufflers from Carnewal. They are great, not too much extra sound, and no drone inside the cabin.
Cheers, Tore

Default Fabulous

They sound just perfect to me as well, Tore. I have a new set from Gert for the C2S and and older set on the cabrio. They do get better, deeper and sonorous with miles. Enjoy!

Good choice Tore. Had mine for almost 20 years. Just perfect for the 993.

Memory tells me you had an engine issue that you posted about earlier this year. Wondering what the outcome was.

All is well now thanks. My local Porsche Classic Center has done a full engine job. There were a lot of serious issues after a refurb job I had done in Germany, bent conrod, non-original (and too long) timing chains, bad bearings etc. The German company denies everything and claims that the Porsche Classic Center planted the evidence of wrong parts etc. Clearly a scam, and I have hired a law firm to pursue this.
Cheers,
Tore

So how much does Porsche charge for a "full" engine job?

are they also lighter than the standard ones?

I was looking for a way to replicate the RSR (which should be emptier and lighter than the standard version) in titanium alloy.
The steel standard ones weigh 15,5kg, it would be a nice weight saving having them in an RSR emptier titanium version, probably weighing less than a third of that.

10kg removed from the back of the car

Wondering how the sound of the RSR's compares to the Fister II's everyone seems to go with? Would love to hear opinions on this. Enjoy your car and it's new sound!

This thread needs a video with good sound ! Sucks about the bad engine job in Germany. Good to hear that you got it fixed.

Default Life is to short . . . .

Tore, We feel for ya! Straight-up expectations or simple expectations met with deception is nerve-racking. .. Here's to settling on a solution; Cheers! .. Life is too short for litigation.. My $.02 cents.

Tore,

Glad your baby is running well now. I can’t imagine litigation country to country. In the US it’s a fiasco state to state. All the best. CCU is still working like new - I thank you every time I hit the big snowflake button and it actually works!!

In my opinion are exhaust videos seldom accurate compared to the real-life impression. However, I took a video of the new mufflers with my cellphone, it might be interesting. As mentioned above in this thread, the sound is expected to change over the first hundred kilometers. I do not have a video with the old mufflers for comparison.
Cheers,
Tore

I’ve had RSR mufflers on my ‘96 cabrio for over 20 years. Just the right amount of Porsche sound!
