993 WB Values are UP!!!
Today I finally tracked a guy who owns a GR/black 1996 C2 I had seen driving around my neighborhood. He's owned it since new and it has about 95k on the clock, so well enjoyed. He said he's put about $40k into it, including a relatively recent top-end job.
He said he might be interested in selling it...IF none of his kids want it...or his P-car mechanic.
He said the paint is all original except the driver-side door, which he had to replace because of a snafu in his garage. He's also replaced the door straps.
Any sense of value?

Speaking of sport seats...

IMO sport seats are the most underrated, and under valued, differentiator between cars.

I don't get it. This variant sold for $201,993 on 3/31/23 (21,000miles)
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...ra-s-coupe-14/
While this one sold for $157,000 on 6/21/23 (59,000 miles)
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...carrera-4s-16/
That's a difference of $44,993. Yes, there is a mileage difference, but the first one still has 21,000 miles and no US history.
Is a sunroof delete and 38k miles really a delta of $45k?

Personally, I don’t consider replacing the rear bumper skin in the same category as damage to the car’s structure or body. I’m sure some will. I think this pursuit of automotive perfection is going to be regretted 5-10 years from now. This wouldn’t change my bid in the least. Just my opinion.

The carfax said it had an accident. It turned out the owner hit a piece in his garage. The right fender was repainted, that was it.

I drove it for six months and sold it to a collector.
It had almost all options, grand prix white on grey full leather includi d the dash.
It's probably worth double of what I sold it for.
