I bought my PCR from one of the online Porsche dealers. It was $1,143 (not including tax and shipping). It was plug and play and works wonderfully. I only use CarPlay for navigation, so I did not install the GPS.

most new head units come with a GPS antenna regardless of whether they have Nav built in. It’s supposed to increase the accuracy of the phone it’s using over CarPlay, Bluetooth, helps with setting time, etc. I would assume it’s the same for the PCCM. In that case, I would install the GPS antenna regardless. Anyone know for sure??

Have you had issues with volume on the BT and CarPlay modes?
For me the radio is ok but phone functions are way too weak in volume.
pretty easy swap though.

Is the volume on your phone turned up?

You have to go to settings then volume and increase the BT gain on the PCCM. I set mine to +4 and never need to go above 20 on volume.

TBH, I haven't listened to FM radio in probably two decades...

Anyone come up with a better way to adhere the media/USB box to the carpet? I've mounted mine on the side of the tunnel using the Velcro that came in the box but it falls off every now and then.

Thanks for your feedback, this is where I planned to put it but you just confirmed my fears that it won't stay in place.
Some have installed it into the ashtray or the glove box but this requires drilling to let the cable through. You could buy an additional ashtray and drill it and keep your original one when/if you sell the car. I think I might do the ashtray thing.

definitely not plug and play.

Check here for installation DIY : https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...adventure.html

Need to install the GPS antenna (I would probably choose under the upper dash and stick it onto the center vents), install the media box (probably buy a new ashtray and drill it) and the microphone (would probably put it in between sunvisors).

That Velcro it comes with is useless. I bolted mine to the carpeted console, and yes, my ashtray opens all the way and closes with no problem. My garage door opener is connected to a switch in my center console.

I used an OE connector and a Targa sunshade rocker switch for the garage door opener.

Super smart install for the garage opener! Well done!

Do you have any more info on how this is done? Looks great!
