Looks great. Federal law needs to change before the dealer can re-program them?

The dealer won't do any coding for you. You have to do it yourself or get someone else to do it. And I think they've actually passed the law but seems to have some more hoops to jump through before it becomes a reality

Yes I believe its finally legal in the US. Tesla just sent out an over the air update and activated it last week on cars that had the hardware.

I know it passed through congress a few years ago, but I'd be shocked if Porsche suddenly activated it. I'd love it! But I'd be shocked...

Passing the required legislation is just one part of the puzzle. The manufacturers still have to go through a certification process of their lighting hardware and software, and it is my understanding that Porsche isn't doing that due to the high cost and relatively low sales volume. Even if they do do that, it would probably only be for future vehicles and not a retroactive enablement for vehicles that are equipped with otherwise compatible hardware. So don't get your hopes up that your dealer will do this for you.

I am glad this can be coded. Seeing all of the amber turn signals in Europe made me jealous as Porsche and BMW still use red. Other manufacturers have switched over to amber which IMO looks so much better and easier to see. I am not sure of the US laws regarding turn signals in the rear.

Default Parking lights

Can anyone confirm that, after coding for matrix functionality, the parking lights are on whenever the car is in automatic headlight mode, even in bright sunshine when the main headlights aren’t activated? That doesn’t seem like typical behavior for US lights, but it’s what I’m experiencing now that the matrix lights are coded.

By parking lights, does this mean that the rear wraparound light bar is on all the time in automatic light mode?

have you found any light setting that you can use to disable the rear light bar illuminating in daytime from your experience?
