That’s not how mine work. Activation speed is 60kph in my car not 30kph. I wish it was 30kph. What country code did you program your matrix activation to? Perhaps activation speed varies in different countries, I believe mine were coded to Germany? @rnlst_log
The matrix headlights I'm referring to are the non-HD 84-pixel headlights in my 9Y0.1 Cayenne. I don't know what country Anthony of 9XX coded them to. I've assumed it was Germany but that may not be the case. Regardless, my matrix high beams appear to function the same as specified for Canada in my owners manual which says: "Dynamic high beams are switched on or off between 20 mph (30km/h) and 37 mph (60 km/h) depending on the navigation data." That's as clear a mud and obviously the manual rounds 60 km/h to 20 mph instead of 18.6 mph. I have specifically verified that my matrix high beams consistently switch on below 20 mph, i.e. at exactly 30 km/h. Prior to the matrix reprogramming, the high beams didn't switch on until 37 mph / 60 km/h by which time I was already "overdriving" the low beams.

Yes, I have the activated non-HD Matrix lights too. I tested this am and they only activate at around 60kph or around 38mph. Once activated they stay on matrix high beam down to around 40kph or about 25mph then drop to low beams below that speed even with low ambient light. That is so weird that the Cayenne acts differently from the 911, I’d love to know how your guy accomplished that but I’m guessing it is his “trade secret”
Would love to meet more forum members. If you guys decide to come to Columbus, I bet @Esoteric_Detail would host. They have a facility in Cleveland now though, also.
Let's do this! We would be happy to host at our facility in New Albany, just outside of Columbus.

Well that sucks. IMO, one of the most important improvements from re-programming was lowering the speed at which the auto high beam switches on. I gave up on using auto high beam before the re-programming due to overdriving the low beam and was controlling the high beam manually. Is it possible that you haven't encountered a situation (re: the verbiage "depending on the navigation data") in which the dynamic high beam switches on at the lowest possible 30 km/h speed? It's especially noticeable after I take of from a stop sign in farm country where there are no street lights and few houses.
Anthony of 9xx lives in Atlanta and I see from your profile that you are in North Carolina.. Anthony has re-programmed many matrix headlights during his tours around the U.S. but some people have driven to Atlanta to have him do it. Maybe he can help.
I’m in the Cleveland area, I’d be interested in getting in on this also. Can the dealer tell if the car has been coded?
Thanks!
They could and probably won't care, I'm just worried about if they do some "flash update" that rolls back light control to US version. Let's plan on meeting this summer when everyone in Ohio get their car lol

I've never seen a deal or that has cared if they even noticed it. The only risk is it getting reset with a software update and you having to do it all over again
To those in Canada or EU with Standard or HD Matrix lights. Do your Matrix headlights swivel when moving or stationary? After Coding MDA car, his HD Matrix headlights don't swivel.

The HD LED-matrix headlights provide additional curve/cornering illumination by switching on additional LED's ("static cornering lights") instead of swiveling - same as how the older generation 84 LED standard definition LED-matrix headlights did it. Here's a link to a relevant Porsche newsroom PDF: https://newsroom.porsche.com/dam/jcr...headlights.pdf
The curving/cornering light is subtle since the main beam remains fixed forward. One European YouTube reviewer even complained about LED-matrix headlights not swiveling on curves without noticing that his own video showed curves being lighted by additional LED's switching on.

@Woofman Thanks. Do you know if the additional LEDs are supposed to switch on when cornering when the HD Matrix lights are in low/dipped beam mode? Ans do you know if the welcome animation is supposed to work?
