Thanks @mda for taking the time to be the first! Now you witnessed first hand how much tinkering there is to figure these things out - really requires quite a time commitment, but you blazed the path for the entire community. Thanks bud . . .

Wow great work! As someone who has the new matrix headlights I've been following @f4bones and his teasing of finding a solution. I'm very interested in having this done on my cab. I'm assuming it requires purchase a PIWIS rig and a charger. It's sad that we have to basically hijack our own cars to get functionality the rest of the world enjoys.

How exciting, 992.2 with HD-Matrix. I’ll reach out to see if I can get this done as soon as I can PM.

Can you also code them to full brightness?

What benefits do you get if you re-program the standard LED matrix lights on the 992.2 vs HD matrix?

Haven't experimented with the standard 992.2 lights - this is purely an exercise to activate ROW HD Matrix functionality.

Does this mean that you have also figured out how to code other stuff in the .2's?

Haven't tried anything else yet - I did code out LKA on my 2025 PVD Taycan - super annoying nanny feature, and was quite difficult to code out. Finally was successful - I'm sure the same process would work for the 992.2 to delete LKA. On the Taycan, it defaults to on, and you have to toggle it off on the cruise control stalk each startup . . .

On the PVD cars, the modules are all locked - you first need to unlock them with PPN access (VT), and then you can code for 90 minutes before they lock again. One exception is the cluster (Kombi) - it doesn't seem to unlock unless you are coding it with VT . . . thus so far we are not able to make adjustments within the cluster, like eliminating seat belt / airbag warnings, etc. PVD really sucks -

Plus, I don't own a 992.2 - my only interest in this platform is the HD Matrix lights which I intend to retrofit onto my 992.1 projects. However, what we've learned via this process will help with other programming on the 992.2, but it's probably going to be pretty limited given the constraints of PVD.

I think we were not able to code FAL speed limit and remove NHTSA restrictions. So might be very limited coding with PVD now.

FAL lowering and raising speed limited was successfully adjusted.
Confirmed by @mda thanks.
Looking now for the Matrix activation speed from 40mph to lower speed.

I am wanting to get all the aids I can on my next car (including night vision).
Night vision has saved my butt twice from hitting deer. Once in my Cayenne and in an older Audi. You don’t need to have the night vision screen up on the dash for its safety systems to be active. It’ll pop a warning and even tap the brakes if it detects an animal incoming. It’s cheap insurance!

If the standard 992.2 LED-matrix headlights have features similar to the previous optional LED-matrix headlights, after re-programming you'll get to drive with your high beams automatically on all the time at speeds over 30 km/h (18.6 mph) as long as there are no overhead lights (e.g. street lights) that provide adequate road lighting. Oncoming and preceded vehicles will be "shaded out" although perhaps not as precisely as is done by the HD LED-matrix headlights. You should also have road sign illumination and glare reduction and increased high beam distance lighting at speeds a bit over 70 mph.

According to the specs on the configuration page, the standard LED-matrix headlights on the 992.2 have additional features that the previous optional LED-matrix headlights didn't have such as dynamic headlight leveling instead of only leveling at startup and "Coming home/leaving home animation". The previous optional LED-matrix headlights also have an "Encounter light" feature that brightens the lane being driven in when encountering vehicles on 2-lane roads. I don't know if the 992.2 standard headlights have that but you might be able to tell by looking at the "Canada only" verbiage in your owners manual.

Bottom line is that it's totally worth it to get the 992.2 standard LED-matrix headlights reprogrammed to be fully functional.
