Getting dealers to reset the oil change nag light with proof of oil change
I changed my own oil with no issues - and have proof. It's not rocket science. Irvine Porsche won't reset the oil change nag light for me. Does anyone know of a case that can be made to persuade a dealer to reset the nag light?

Get something like icarsoft por v2.0 for Porsche from the money saved doing it yourself. They will just give you a hard time even if you get them to do it once doesn't mean they will do it every oil change.

Of course they won’t do it. It logs it into the DME and is non changeable once entered. It also includes the dealers info once entered.
If you’re doing it yourself, you’ll have to log it yourself.
Further to that, why would you expect a business to work for free and take time out of a guys schedule to bring your car in and hook it up to piwis?

just get Autel maxicom MK808S...I used it once on the 911 and also on my Audi...paid for itself already. The dealers have rigged the system so that you can't clear it yourself...so they charge an arm and leg for something as stupid as an idiot light.

I understand the commercial disincentives. Of course. I was planning on taking the vehicle to them anyway for other work - which I told them about - but now I'm disinclined to give them any of my business because of their unhelpful attitude. So the commercial disincentive cuts both ways.

Dealers instructions would be to clear it through the PCM. As far as I can tell anyway...

I just had similar experience - wanted to get my 4year service done and dealer insists it has to include all required services including brake fluid flush. Just happens to be that I had my breaks redone recently including new brake fluid. So, now dealer wants me to show proof from a licensed shop that this was done or they don't reset my maintanance light. Well, I will have my service done at an indy. Service will be logged into car via PIWIS and recorded on Carfax...refuse to do service just to check a box if it makes no sense.

Completely doable in PIWIS... its under Instrument Cluster -> Maintenance and Repairs. Contact @rnlst_log for a setup - IMHO if you have *any* inclination to perform your own maintenance and are even marginally computer savvy then PIWIS is an absolute must to unlock access to your car. My version is 42.1 which is from 2023. I was running in offline/simulation mode using the profile of a 2020 car for illustration purposes, but that's the way it works on all 992s 'in real life' - can't imagine there would be any significant changes in this process for any 992.1.
My car is a 2021 - I do an oil change every October right before storage and then reset the service intervals as needed. Note how the car is reporting correctly on the Connect app below. Also, viewing the service history in PCM would show a series of fall oil changes in 'JL's Garage' - the only technician I trust...

I didn't mean to imply that a PIWIS couldn't be used to do the thing, just that it's not necessary...for a 2024 at least.
