Default Got a T and love it!

Since I really enjoyed the 718T, I wanted to experience the 911T to see how the whole package works. Major kudos to Porsche as I think the 992.1 T is amazing.

I took delivery on Friday and have put 300 fun miles on it already. Try not to be upset by this, I think the T delivers 90+% of the GT3T joy 95+% of the time on the street.

The biggest surprise for me has been how amazing it sounds. Of course, the redline is lower. However, the intake and exhaust sounds really great. The tone and volume changes with throttle opening, load, and rpm. The last few hundred rpm before redline is sort of GT3T like!

For my use, the 23.7 gallon fuel tank adds to my enjoyment. I cannot resist the carbon fiber roof. I would have loved the PCCB if it was available. Other than not going with the bucket seats and having LEDs, I went for a simple and lightweight spec. When I get the car on a scale, I will share the weight (mostly likely close to a full tank of fuel).

The engine power delivery is tuned very well. This might be one of the best examples of a turbocharged sports cars out there. Great response but not the silly amount of low rpm torque. Power doesn’t fall off. With the great sound, it makes me want to hit the last few hundred rpm before redline over and over again (and I do).

Congrats and nice spec. Sounds like you really get the car. Kudos. Enjoy in good health.

OP - Congratulations. Shark blue is my favorite color and your spect is great! I don't think any GT3 owner would be upset by your opinion. After all, they have a GT3! Also, I disagree with your comment about any 992 with a turbo motor sounding anything close to a naturally aspirated GT3. They are not close by any stretch or objective measure. I wish our cars sounded better, but they just don't sound that good.

I don’t know if it’s a combination on the T (less sound deadening, thinner glass, no rear seats, and sport exhaust perhaps?). The sound truly surprised me in a great way. As I get older, I probably prefer less volume and that likely has something to do with it. Of course, I do think the GT3T sounds better but it’s intense and sort of wears me out if I keep using all the rpm over and over again.

Congrats! The first I’ve seen with titanium wheel
bolts. Can you notice the difference between steel?

Totally noticeable because it uses a T70 bit (same as McLaren).

Thanks. I usually go with really plain interior but decided to add a splash of color this time (took a risk). I kinda like it and shark blue has grown on me too.

Guessing that T70? Not many are carrying one of those around.

Being in the cabin of a T and an S is a different experience. The T has thin glass, less insulation, and possibly a bit of magic dust from the factory that makes a high pitch'd metallic sound above 6,500 reminiscent of what a GT3 sounds like above 8k. All 3.0T motors seem to have it to a certain degree and it's much more pronounced in the T.

I agree about the volume. I think the stock exhaust in sport mode is perfection. GT3 is good for about 3 hrs. I've done 14 hours straight on the T and even that gets tiring because the cabin is loud but I last much longer.

Awesome that you're enjoying you new car! Shark Blue is a great color. Have you owned a GT3 before for comparison?
