I am not sure how you deduced that. I looooove Porsches a lot, more so I paid ADM for one of them. However I do appreciate other cars too. Like if i would never drive a Porsche again, what would i replace it with? Does not mean we hate Porsche.

Truth be told, there aren’t a lot of other new sports car options in the $120k-250k price segment. If you’re looking for a manual transmission sports car, the 911 is the only option.

The books have closed on the Acura NSX. The final Audi R8 allocations are dear if not already gone.

The Jaguar F Type is still kicking around, though that car is really more of a GT. There’s the Vantage, which if you are looking for a GT, there’s the definitive one. The AMG GT is the sportiest of that bunch, but it’s been retired.

Above the 911 price tier, you’ve got the McLarens, V10 Lambos, and the MC20. Typically, with money in that upper range, you’re no longer making either/or buy decisions.

Below the 911 price bracket, you have the Emira and C8. If you are looking below the Emira and C8, you really aren’t looking at a new 911 as a serious option.

M3 has been a 4 door for more than a decade now. I have posted elsewhere, I don’t consider the M3/M4 as something being sincerely cross shopped with 911s — yes, someone will chime in that they thought about it and really happy with their M car. It’s a fine car for the price segment, though I am of the opinion that the Giulia is, dynamically, a better 3 series than anything BMW has built in years.

As a few side notes:

I believe the Jag F Type is being discontinued after MY2024. It may (?) come back in EV form, but in it’s present form, it’s on the chopping block.

I own both a M4 (not competition) and 992S. The M4 is not even close to the 911. I love the M4 (no rattles, etc), but in terms of handling and acceleration, the 911 will lap the M4.

I haven't driven the new M4 and I'm not a fan of the auto trans, but last time I was at the track someone had a new M4 and was kicking ***. He was beating some pretty major firepower.

Either way, I also prefer the 992 between the two.

Not for me anymore, but I've owned and liked the Miata (1990), and PRHT (2009).

All I will say is, you never know what mods someone has made to their stock car. However, the M4 Competition is pretty formidable.

For me its less which sports car instead and more a question of which brand instead, and for that question there is no substitute. Mercedes may be a distant second as a brand but there's not fit for me and their product offering.

No doubt, he could have been tuned. Suspension was clearly stock.

If someone gave me a Miata / MX-5 I'd happily take it. When they first came out my best friend picked up one from the 1st shipment to Australia; we had a ball in that car over the next few years both on the track and back roads around Melbourne.

Nice to see quite a few of us on here that appreciates the Miata.

Here is my current pair. I got high speed fun, low speed fun, summer and winter covered.

I had a 991 C2S for a while. Eventually, will probably go back to a 911. GT3T would be the dream.

For me the 992 is a GT rather than a sports car so that being said, I would be tempted by both the Aston Martin Vantage and Maserati GT if it were not for the depreciation and reliability. Other than that, the M4 is the only real alternative I'd consider.

After 911 I'd consider the Roma or a Huracan, or some other Ferrari / Lambo.
I don't love the attention of the Lambo, and don't love the unreliability of Ferraris. Porsche may really be the perfect daily sport car

I don't love BMW or Chevy etc.

I really like my Audi RS3, much smaller, for me than the 911 on the inside but a blast to drive. A TTRS would be fun too.
