ADMs dropping

There was an article on CNBC today about the average car selling over MSRP. They had a top 10 by percent list and the 911 was not on it. The Taycan was.
Many "normal" cars are selling +20%, so some of these ADMs on a % basis are below many other brands/models.

Be patient, see the financial news today - some west coast banks are starting to fail.

I'll buy someone else's optioned car sitting at a dealership.... but most (all?) dealerships still won't sell out of State. I won't pretend to understand Porsches allocation system, but it clearly heavily favors areas that have historically sold a high volume of cars. If I was a Porsche dealer in a small market this would be super frustrating to me as a franchisee - how do you grow your dealership?
Porsche Scottsdale also has a few 911s available for sale, but they won't sell out of State at any price.

I called a Florida Porsche dealer 120 miles from here to ask about getting in line for an allocation to order a Turbo S, and they told me Porsche had just ordered them to stop selling new Porsches to customers outside the local zip codes there.
Not sure if that included the more plentiful SUVs and Sedans.
I've had 12 Porsches since my first, a 1970 Signal Orange 914 I ordered for my 25th birthday.
Most of my Porsches over the years were new ones, but dealers and PCNA treat me like a newbie Porsche owner, probably because I had to move around for my career in a very cyclical industry segment. I worked in 7 different locations over my career.

between the new restrictions on Porsche dealers posting inventory to online marketplaces (can't post new cars anymore) and news like the above its sadly clear that PCNA is cracking down hard on consumers ability to cross shop dealers. This sucks. Especially for those of us that have awful local dealers.

I don't know what's what anymore - I live in NY and talked to a NJ dealer a couple of weeks ago, and at that time they had no issue with the geography part of a possible order.

The dealers "local markets" are not divided solely on state lines. Especially in an area like NY/NJ/CT where there are a lot of dealers in a small area.

I think your closest dealer would technically be your local dealer, although if in a different state that might be a concern. I am about 100 miles from my closest dealer, and about 125 miles from the next closest in the other direction. Both have indicated no problem doing business with me, although they are both in my state.
