I'm on a waiting list for a 2023 C4, but so far no progress, so I'm likely to wait for the 992.2 . I'm hoping some of the refinement in the 992.2. might include improving noise isolation a bit from the tires (my only criticism of the car) so I can use it more for highway travel. But, if a 992.1 allocation comes up, I think I'll jump on it.

To me the big question is if all .2 will be hybrids and how much power the hybrid will provide.
If the gas engine is kept as-is and the hybrid helps the power-weight ratio - I would be interested in a .2
I was also planning to get a PTS and there is no more PTS for .1.

1) Any 'driving nannies' that can't be de-optioned.
2) An auto-shutoff engine that can't be permanently disabled or de-optioned.
3) Any weight increase from hybrid/battery systems.
4) Lack of a manual transmission.
I'm looking for a relatively pure track day car, and the direction they have been going with more and more non-driver control and unhelpful, distracting electronics is moving away from the goal.

Also, what do you mean by driving nannies?

2) Any "feature" that puts a warning light on the dash when I intentionally turn it off.
3) Any "feature" that I cannot permanently disable, i.e., the nonsense of resetting your selections each and every time you start the car.
4) Any system that changes your driving input, i.e. auto lane keeping, auto-braking, adaptive cruise, traction control that uses braking, etc.
For a track day car, any unexpected/unbidden control input is a hazard, and the only warning lights that should ever illuminate on the track are the ones that tell you the engine is in danger, i.e., oul pressure, temp, system failure, etc. Any other "warning" light that does not require a return to the pits is a distraction at best, hazard at worst.

Oh yeah, not a fan of fully digital tach. The current analog tach looks amazing while having convenience of digital on the side. Fully digital is a big minus for me.

I would absolutely wait. I think the facelift is going to fix a lot of design flaws such as that UFO 🛸 rear end, the silly little pinky finger shifter, that analog tach that simply looks cartoonish, and the child biting door handles … among many, many other half-baked and thoughtless things.

Hadn't heard the UFO rear end criticism; I can kinda see it though. I'm a fan.

Some pros/cons may be:
It will be faster/it may be a hybrid
You can see all the gauges/gauges will be all digital
it may have more “tech”/Porsche tech kinda sucks
it will be the newest, shiniest toy/it may be much more expensive
it will be better for the environment/it may have particulate filters that may mute the sound even more
your perspective will dictate which side of the equation you view as a pro or con.
