Interesting that you deleted the 2 key words “in China” when you quoted Steven Shi’s post. He was not commenting on resale values in the U.S. Unless, of course, he edited his post after you quoted it. But one of the two of you are being disingenuous.

No, last I heard from my dealer back in January was that they expected something this Spring. My sense from that has always been that Porsche doesn’t tell them exactly when announcements will be made so I was just surprised with the exact dates.

Fair enough. Fact is that the 992 ST and the 992 Speedster will follow in Summer (ST) and most likely November (Speedster). It is not likely that these models will be presented way after presentation of the 992.2. I would currently bet on 2024 or even later 2024 for the presentation of the 992.2.

Initially, I thought 992.2 might come late this year for 2024 MY (based on my dealer telling me they’ll announce it this Spring and slowly rolls out some trims and wait to the same for others until next MY). But I’m increasingly thinking, at least based on 991 timeline, that 992.2, regardless of when it’s announced, won’t come until 2025 MY (in other words, first one should hit the road in late Summer or early Fall of 2024).

Now that Porsche is listed as P911 on XETRA we can expect product announcements in close proximity to 6-monthly financial reporting.
I doubt there will be any 992.2 news announced at the next quarterly report.
my money is on announcement at the July 26 half year Fin Report, as it is unlikely that Porsche can greatly enhance the 19% margin in 6 months, but new models will be a good source of excitement.

The 992.2 isn't going to impact Porsche financials - they are already selling every 911 they can make, in advance.
Porsche clearly needs a new sports car model above the 911 - a permanent model, not some special one-off low production 911 variant - to compete with the Roma and the McLaren offerings, otherwise they are simply ceding that market segment to others.
