the fact we've got .2 GT product on the ring does make it seem that the .2 will be here sooner than later.

going to full digital instruments across the board and likely adding hybrid tech options could easily justify a slightly earlier than usual release

But these are due to electrification.... kind of exception...

For the more regular models, the gen 3 Cayenne did not get facelift for 5 years, the exact same shape 2019-2023 MY, and then face lift for 2024 MY.

Panamera 971.2 is going to be produced for 4 years, 2021-2024 MY.

Probably the 7 year cycle (with .1 for 4 years, .2 for 3 years) is now going away.

New cycle will be 9 years I guess, .1 for 5 years and .2 for 4 years.

They are going to stretch the gas powered cars lifecycles as long as they can. Once EV bans come into force, even with the e fuel exemptions, sales volumes for these cars will drop significantly so they can not justify spending hundreds of millions of dollars to develop significantly new models.

Don’t know how I feel about fully digital instrument panel. It’s nice to have the analog center dial.

The grill is a defining feature for a car brand so they will add it superfluously to their EVs until they can transition to something more universal like taillights (see Genesis).

I see two possible explanations for this: 1) seeing how well Teslas are selling with the oldest average model age in the industry and 2) the transition to electric forcing Porsche to reallocate resources.

Agreed - I would seriously be considering the I4 M50 as a DD if it didn't look the way it does.

A good friend has one (I4 M50) and it is so shockingly ugly.. It made what Bangle did to the brand look like nothing...

Saw this on the Turbo forum, obviously to take with a grain of salt.

Well, let the turbo owners deal with the first year hybrid problems I guess. I am still not convinced the dealers know the truth as communicated to them from PCNA.

One thing I'm hoping for on the new digital tach is to have a few choices on how to display it, like on BMW M3--

Maybe we could get a '997 style' or '991 style' display, etc. Would give a bit of heritage feel.

I consulted with Google Bard, since Google knows everything, and I got the following answer:

That AI response is probably based on this Rennlist thread and various articles online.

More importantly will the break in schedule be the same for the 992.2? What about oil?
