I hope this link can clarify some of the questions. The dash cam with labor is being quoted at $1,250 plus tax. If anyone installed and can confirm that you can use wireless Apple CarPlay after the installation and only loose connection while connecting via app, that would be great. https://rparts-sites.s3.amazonaws.co...HCAM_INSTR.pdf
Wait, so the front & rear pre-wire we paid for is an extra fuse slot and not a pre-wire? This makes the power steering wheel adjustment fiasco look tame haha. What a joke.
The extra fuse slot is for the power to the Dashcam...there has to be a wire running to somewhere with power for the Dashcam. There are plenty of unused fuse slots in the car...they wouldn't just power up a fuse slot without running power to the location, otherwise there is no point to the pre-wire...you still have to disassemble everything and remove the fusebox to run a wire to the backside of it.

I would think the same since the description says - Pre-wiring for Porsche Dashcam (front and rear).

Which is crazy, I can get a front and rear 4K BlackVue with the power magic pro installed for that by my local guy with no “pre wiring.”
Got a confirmation that the dash cam won't interfere with the wireless Apple car play. It requires wireless connection only when connecting via app. I should hopefully pickup on Friday and report back

This could be due to dashcam and not the wiring, maybe the dashcam requires a wifi connection between the phone and dashcam to setup and control. Some dashcams are like that. The preparation for the Dashcam is to provide power by close to the top of the windshield and then you can install any camera you would like
Greetings! New to the forum. I just took delivery of my 23’ 992 C2. I had specced the Preperation for Dashcam on my build sheet. I went ahead and purchased the mirror tap kid from Blend, thinking I was going to find nothing of use inside the overhead console, but it looks like there is actually a spare harness in there. Pictures are below. I used the mirror tap anyway, as I did not have the mating connector and just wanted to get my radar working. Just a heads up here! I was following the install here:

Yes, I can also confirm that a 2023 992 GTS was just delivered this week to my dealer and the wiring is in place and makes for very easy connection to Porsche Dash cam or others... Should be able to just simply connect front and rear. The Porsche Specific cam requires no additional wires, components or anything and will sit flush with the mirror. It looks very very clean in person, just saw it in the showroom
