That looks bad. Smoke coming from all along the ship. Black areas must be on fire. With no crew it is likely going to completely burn. But why white smoke?

How about jumping into the submarine and salvaging one of those GT3s Easier than getting an allocation

The ship must have a fire suppression system, was it not engaged? I wonder if it was arson by a crew member.

Cargo ship on fire
A friend sent this to me. I hope no one’s car is in this ship.

Statement much appreciated!
Manager of my dealership called me today and more or less said his condolences. Kidding aside, he and I both are pretty sure its a lost cause. Now I will just wait to hear back from him once Porsche contacts dealers about the next step.
Pretty frustrating to say the least. I can't lie, it has me wonderful if i even want to do this again.

What do you think about maybe buying a Corvette instead?

Glad to hear the crew is OK. Really stinks that people waiting on their Porsches and VWs may not get their cars.

Your post was where I first learned of this event, not the usual sources, NYT, WP, AP. I was trying to figure out which ship leaving Emden on February 4, the Felicity Ace (NYK) or the Glovis Sonic (Glovis-Hyundai) would be carrying my Porsche 992 Turbo S to Benecia, CA and delivery, per "Follow Your Dream." When I learned that the Sonic was headed for Colombia, and the Panama Canal, inferred, I figured my car was on the Sonic. They departed on February 4. A week later, on February 11, I heard from my salesman that the car had left Emden on 2/4 on the Sonic. For a couple of days, I followed the Sonic and the Ace in my "fleet", and finally, "follow your dream" disclosed the "On Vessel - Glovis Sonic" on February 11, a week after it left. For a few days both Sonic and Ace were in the Channel, Ace trailing. Then, I got a little bored. And then.... wow!!! I don't know the capacity of the ship in numbers of cars, but the potential loss of a ship full of Porsches for the East Coast, is a huge dent in a market that is already marked by scarcity. I'm so sorry for the buyers who will be so disappointed. The allocations will undoubtedly delay anticipated production dates as Porsche replaces what has been lost. News is scanty at this hour.
