Do clarify which mode you are running.

Normal mode is sometimes 5 degrees cooler than sport, but otherwise about the same. Both hitting 220+ in normal driving especially during traffic. Outside temperature was high 60s to low 70s.

No. Car is completely stock other than sport cats and tune.

So was mine. My guess if you're not tracking at 9/10 you should be fine but I would look in adjusting the gap or replacing the plugs in case if prolonged hard track use. In my case, the plug-in melted in the piston and scored the cylinder. The exact reason I may never know.

Just a quick question. By removing CEL after installing an aftermarket exhaust, is it simply done by removing certain DTCs or am I going to not see any CEL for anything at all?

As I said, I may never know why it happened, but a spark plug tip melted the other 5 were toasty. Allegedly, adjusting the gap or replacing it with a colder plug would avoid that.

I don't understand how you can get such large power increases without changing the intakes, exhaust and injectors? I have never tuned a Porsche car but I have tuned a VW GTI and a Nissan GTR. In both of those cars the tune required more air coming into the engine, more exhaust leaving the engine and larger volume fuel injectors. On the GTR I only added 100 WHP which was about the limit without having to add larger turbos and a built transmission.

Also, how does this tune work with cars that require emissions testing? Any issues? Check Engine Lights?

as a recently ex owner of a heavily tuned and forged R35 I think the answer is that there was little headroom in Nissan’s OEM parts.

Injectors were maxed out at stage 1/2, intakes were restrictive by diameter and exhaust was absolutely fine for almost 7-750bhp with one set of the two cats removed.

I would guess maybe detonation from too much boost, timing, IAT and not enough octane (meth) or a combination of all of those things. Did you run it on the track or just around town? I would be hesitant to run any tune on the track but I know some people have.

In general Porsche's are better built for flow from the factory. You'll typically find more technology as well (i.e. forged rotating parts, plasma transferred thermal coatings, etc.). Porsche tends to overbuild cars because of their track focus use relative to companies like VW/Nissan. There aren't typically the level of "failure points" via accountants

Is also kindly suggest taking into consideration porsches grossly understated factory 443hp rating. I've viewed a few dyno charts from factory specifications on the S pulling around 500hp at the crank. Going off the 443 hp is not advised, so the 100 whp increase can be decreased somewhat....and I'm a very happy stage 3+ c4s owner. 😀

How critical is the spark plugs thing? I have a ~6500 miles car and don't track it .. however, i am the second owner so who knows what happened before. I think normally the plugs go around 30k? Would be a shame to blow it all up

Interesting, even the stock Cats allow this, you do not have to go catless or install sport Cats?

Correct. You can do stage 1 with just stock cats. Sport cats or catless allows for stage 2 which is about 20-40 more hp than stage1, depending on if you also get an exhaust.
