Default 992 in Gentian Blue

Question for owners with a Gentian Blue 992:

How does it show dirt? Easy / difficult to keep clean?

What interior did you choose (seat color and trim)

Do you still like the choice after xx months?

What other color did you consider?

I am looking right now for myself at the following configuration:

Thank you!

I am awaiting delivery of my first Porsche a few more weeks to go. I chose Guards Red on my build. Personally I think that Gentian Blue is a gorgeous color in the right light, mainly a bright sunny day and when the car is clean. In cloudy weather and when the car is a bit dirty I feel that the color looses its pop. The car I test drove when I ordered mine was Gentian Blue and those were the conditions cloudy and the car was a bit dirty. That is my opinion on the color but you are not buying the car for me, regardless of the color you choose I am sure you will love the car.

Thanks. My alternative pick is Carmine Red over Black with black wheels. I prefer CR over GR - is a deeper red white orange hue. But both are stunning colors!

My daily is a Navarro Blue S3 with Rotor Gray interior. The blue is very similar to the Gentian in the configurator. I absolutely love the color and combo. The only reason I didn’t get Gentian on my 911 is that I didn’t want to have 2 blue cars. I wanted something different. You can’t go wrong!

I’ve seen this at PEC and own a gt4 in this color. It’s great. It has a wonderful richness that changes dramatically based on the lighting.
now, I do personally prefer midnight blue metallic as a darker hue.
for cleaning, well, it’s a bit darker and does require you wash off “light” colored dirt. Like pollen and dust. Not like every week or anything. Of course a light color like chalk would show dark dirt and mud much more readily. There’s no escaping dirt. I’d recommend some PPF and then you can just hose it down.

I think Carmine is a really nice color too, I was trying to keep my build within a price range so did not order an extra price color. My current car has black and silver wheels. They look awesome when clean and polished but I find that washing them alone does not make them pop, for them to look their best I need to polish / wax the black which can sometimes be a pain in the ***. Personally I would not choose to have gloss black wheels on a car of mine again (just my opinion).

I have a Gentian Blue Cab. Beautiful color, but does show dust, especially the pollen right now in the south. But it is fun to wash. Grey leather interior with chalk stitching.

I love the Gentian Blue, and I think it looks great with the yellow calipers.

I have a 997.1 C4S Cab in Midnight Blue Metallic now and was set on getting the same color for my 992 but I wasn’t sure if the current Night Blue Metallic was even darker and after seeing the Gentian I realized the color pops in the sun, but looks rich yet deep and dark at night or when cloudy, a good mix of both a bright blue and a dark blue. So that is what I went with. June delivery coming so I can’t comment on keeping it clean. For my interior I really wanted the Chalk seats but didn’t want the Slate Grey combo for the dash/steering wheel/etc that came with it so I went Black w/ Chalk Stitching and deviated Seat Centers in Chalk with the 930 leather quilting. I almost got the Exclusive Wheel but opted instead for the Classics, a bit more sporty.

I seriously waffled on color up until my freeze and have had doubts since then. Mainly thinking instead of the younger sportier look of Gentian, should I have chosen Chalk or White for a more distinguished/elegant look. Several years ago I wanted Agate Grey but got off that idea. If I had gone Chalk or White I would have picked the Exclusive wheel.

I’m sure when I get it I will love it and not second guess my color choice.

Gentian is one of the best blues ever IMO with enough pop to look good on cloudy days as opposed to any "midnight blue".
My daily is an Audi in navarra, another great blue, but gentian is slightly bolder.

I am considering Gentian blue and have an Audi Q7 in Navarra. If possible could you please post a picture of your Audi and 911 side by side, so I could see the difference? Thanks in advance.

Whether it's overcast or sunny, Gentian Blue has depth of character... and yes, I am bias.

Amazing how a late afternoon winter sun really brings out the violet hues in Gentian.

Really reminds me a lot of Iris Blue from the 993. Both are fantastic colors - but Iris had an amazing violet tint at times.
