It is interesting. I love Gentian Blue when lit by direct sunlight, it really pops. When lit more evenly on overcast days or in shadow I don't find it appealing. Weird.

If you don't get Gentian, I would recommend Agate over GT. Great depth.

Wouldn't any dirty car appear dull? Aside from black, I feel that generally most other colors get dirty much the same.
The sun brings out the subtle violet flake for GB. When dusty, it looks like just dark blue.
The photos in this thread capture it well.

This is what I said earlier in the post, I think Gentian is an awesome color, when it is clean and in the sun but there is no getting away from the fact that on a cloudy day and when the car is a bit dirty the color goes flat. Doesn't make it a bad color it just is what it is. Silver colors tend to be considered boring but very often even when the car is dirty they look relatively clean and look quite bright in any light.

Thanks for all the input. I think I have wrestled it down now. I had a chance to see the Black / Mojave Beige Standard Interior on a 992 in Agate Grey with 8,000 mi on it - and I really disliked it (very light, showed already some wear).
I will pair the Gentian Blue Cabriolet with full leather Black with Chalk Stitching AND deviating Seat Centers in Graphite Blue (as I saw on a fellow RL member car). This is a subtle change to break up the Black without distracting too much from the exterior and without being too light for my liking.
Of course, I still have no allocation. Hence, in the next 6 month+ of my wait I may change my mind again.

I have seen the GB now in every weather (thanks to the Mid West) and it looks far from dull in any condition. A very versatile Blue that is elegant when overcast or dark and pops in the sun in all different shades of blue and a hue of purple. Other than Red, the perfect color for a 911 Cab!
