I know I’m in the minority here, but I always thought the rear wiper and a roof rack looked great on a 911- especially the older wide-bodied air cooled models.

Do any of you guys with the wiper miss having the noise insulated glass option?

If you plan on driving when it snows, it should be a must. Appearance be damned.

As I mentioned it's unnecessary if you only drive it on sunny dry days. If you don't and are not in the sun belt then it's obvious why

If it does not have the rear wiper, then it is not a true 911!

Is it at all possible to add the rear wiper to a car without one?

I doubt that it is possible and even if it physically could be done, as Siberian said it would be very expensive. If you priced out all the required parts, it would not surprise me that you would be looking well in excess of $1,000.

Interesting question- I have always loved the rear wiper on a 911 ever since I first saw one way way back.(If I remember correctly, a German fellow in my hometown took me for a ride in his early '67 coupe with a sunroof and rear wiper when I was in high school. I was sold!!) Even though I live in AZ and rarely even use the regular wipers, I would get one just "because." I spec'ed one on a new GTS build but couldn't on the T because of the light weight glass.
Can't even remember the last time I've seen one a newer 911- sure can't be a very popular option.
