Good to see u joining in on the conversations here! Yes, lots of helpful folks here. Again, u shouldn’t have a hint of reservation regarding the MT! I hope other current owners chime in also on how easy it is to drive the MTT. For me, the MT is probably the most important selection on a sports car period!

BTW, it’s kind of crazy how things work sometimes. Someone PMd me that they saw one of my Utube videos and decided to check out RList and T thread…..saw the discussions around MT and also pulled the trigger on a MT because of it. Ha, maybe RList should send me gifts for bringing folks here also. Ok, just kidding again.

Oh. Are u located NE? Join us in September if so. Also post some pics of ur T later!

Appreciate that.

Nope it's standard. Think I was kneeling down taking that shot so almost looking up at the car. Maybe that's why it looks lowered?

@patel1283 I picked up my T yesterday. Haven't had a manual car for a few years. Drove it a hundred miles through some countryside and then into a busy London. It's a doddle. @ECNJ is 100% right. The manual makes the car more involving. If you're new to MT then the autoblip will make you look and feel a hero. If you're a bit more experienced you can heel & toe with ease. The pedals are positioned perfectly for me. And the short throw and feel of the stick in your hand is fantastic. Go for it!

Sound system upgrade

I do not want to change the current speaker covers and also don’t want to change anything visibly inside the car, so no pop up tweeters around columns etc.

I’ve visited a few installers and listened to various brands of speakers and have decided to go with the Focal range.
More specifically, I’m very close to ordering the plug and play limited edition (911 samples) Focal P60 box (link below).
More than I intended to spend @ £3,700 / $3,900.

However I took the following into consideration..
1) It’s plug & play specifically designed for 992’s and relatively easy to install.
2) I’ll keep the original speakers and when I sell
the car I’ll swap them back and either sell the Focals separately or do a deal with the buyer.
3) Alternatively if in 3 years I buy say a 992.2 with
identical doors I could install them in there?!

I would warmly welcome any comments

Does that include a sub? Seems strange to spend £500 more than Burmester would have cost you but I guess you just hoped that standard system was good enough for you. Hope it gets you what you want in terms of quality and improved bass.

I like this plan. I've been loosely considering replacing with Focal speakers (as mentioned previously on this thread) once I get my 911 (which is sitting in Leipzig with no word on if/when/where I'll ever get it :-) ). Maybe you'll get it installed before I even collect my car so I know exactly which direction to go.

I think the RS Spyders are the biggest 'looking' wheel too so they give the effect of the car being lower than it is.

My concern would be the base system is way underpowered to drive any good speakers.

Agreed - does seem weird to pay more than a Burmester (I wish now I had ordered it), but I’m hoping by swapping the original speakers back in when I sell the T, I’ll be able to recoup half the price??
No sub included but the bass of the Focal sounds amazing.

Focal is an icon in audiophile groups. Very efficient and detail-oriented drivers. They are often very easy to drive so I'm not too concerned about 150W being enough. If it wasn't, they would only suggest the kit be paired with BOSE or Burmester equipped cars.

I think this might be the part number. Be sure to check fitment for the 992: 9910448012184A

In my car it does light up in sport plus as expected, assuming you mean the 5th button for the chassis right?

This would be my “I regret..” combination. Can’t wait to see lots of pictures! Welcome here. You will definitely love this manual. It’s just perfection.

What I don’t understand how this can work in both the base system as the Bose. I would assume it’s way underpowered because we don’t have the Bose woofer and amp. That system is 600W so how could these speakers with 100W/200W provide a better sound? I am sure they must be brilliant because of the price. But wouldn’t you want to hear it first in a base system? I guess that’s not possible to arrange but still. I don’t have experience but it all seems a bit strange for a newbie like me.
