Over the past few weeks, this thread sounds more and more like a support group for addicts. Guilty. Lol.

Default Is anyone experienced lightweight window cracked issue?

I got my C2T last Saturday after PDI. I asked my SA not to wash my car as my ppf installer asked about it. I dropped off my car right after I pickup at dealership. After they washed my car for window tinting first, they found imperfection on my driver side’s window in-between window dual panels. And finally it cracked

Anyone has experienced lightweight window cracked issue? My installer reached out my dealership and ordered a new window since dealership doesn’t have one in stock.

Inner glass is super thin than outer one.

There’s a small dot(imperfection) on the driver side’s window.

Cracked on lightweight glass(inner side)

Holy crap, never seen that before. Also thought only the glass on rear quarters and rear window were lightweight?

Wow!
How did that happen? I cant believe the glass is so thin that it would crack easily.

Weird!

There is a thread on rennlist about what seems like inexperienced tint installers cracking lightweight glass. They can’t install tint the way they normally do wrapping the edge and then using a razor to cut an exact fit on the glass. I think that causes the crack you have.

I posted 39 pictures of a racing yellow T. So check them out starting page 447 up to page 450 with all the interior pictures. Would also strongly recommend to go through all pages.

I have no idea It’s my first time to have Carrera T which comes with lightweight glass. I had 991.1 C2S but no windows issue at that time.

@Macboy lovely to see that yellow again. I think it's one of if not the first non-media, non-dealer pic ever posted no?

@AsherDad sorry this happened to you, Reading material for us all: https://rennlist.com/forums/992-gt3-...***-drama.html

By and large, the group therapy is working!

We have new members that need help, we have the core rehab group, and some repeat offenders

Which one are you?

This pic is oe windows from factory. The uneven edge is an inner window not a film. I believe they did not apply tint film on driver side’s window yet.

I've been sick since before I got my license. I've been coming to RL for group therapy since 2006. I've been getting support from everyone on this thread since January when I got my allocation. Thank you all!

About the glass I completely forgot to mention it here!! My front window has cracked as wel. This has never happened to me before. And it was a day before the trackday. Maybe something is not right? We need to wait and see if more issues arrive. Glass is untouched by my dealer so no PPF or any other treatment on this window.

@AsherDad

I will make a picture from the outside tomorrow. It very much looks the same as his where the break-line goes to the outside of the glass, or maybe it just started from there?

Oh I called my installer and the tint guy applied a tint film on a driver side and tried to squeeze the moisture and it happened after a minute
